Hiya all!

I'm in the process of getting a 2000 (W) Felicia hatchback with the 1.3MPi engine back on the road. I'm going to use it to tow a motorcycle trailer then I'm giving it to my daughter for her 17th birthday as her first car!

I bought the petrol-coloured car off a work friend for £200 - it had sat in her garage for a year or so. It was very dirty and dusty but basically sound, with only 50k on the clock and a FSH - she'd owned it from new. It started first time with a new battery. Only concern was - and is - that the coolant level was low and the oil looks contaminated, so it might need a head gasket, though there's not much mayonnaise in the oil filler cap.

I bought a new O/S/F drive shaft for the car as the nearer CV joint boot had split and the joint was worn - I got it from Eurocarparts (ECP) for a ridiculously-low price of about £35, thanks to their WINTER25 offer. The front discs are the originals and even though they work well, they look and feel well-worn and are quite scored - I got a pair of Eicher discs, again from ECP, for £20, delivered. I'm used to motorcycle parts prices - excessive prices - so I'm very pleased that nearly everything for the Felicia is so amazingly cheap!

So next is an oil change, coolant change - and fitting the parts so I can get it MoTd!

Cheers,
