She's finally here.. My wife's black Monte Carlo.

It's a 1.2tsi 105 with nav, bluetooth, maxi dot, rear park, heated seats, esp and black/grey seats.

Not had much chance to drive yet as it was sheet ice this morning. Will let you know my thoughts as we do some miles.

Purchased through CarFile which was a smooth process.. they even drove it down to me for free.. :-)

Yeah I suppose so, I liked the dark grey, but it was my wife's choice.

I chose the engine and she chose the colour. Seems a fair deal ;-)

Had a drive today. Engine is a peach, rattle from glovebox so I need to fix that (the road around here are so crap it'll rattle loads in 6 months).

Colour is ace and I think it looks cracking clean or dirty ( it will mostly be dirty!!)

Sat nav is way better than my Columbus. Everything much quicker.

Wife won't drive it with me in it! So she will take it out tomorrow.

When you say carfile drove it down for you, do not mean on a low loader or actually putting miles on the car itself?

They put miles on it, but I would have had to have collected it anyway so the mileage made no difference. Very few dealers use a low loader as it is too expensive.

The dealer was in Birmingham so it was not far.

Did carfile tell you the dealer location before purchase cos I considered using drive the deal but feared it being driven from glasgow and putting 300 miles on it cos them miles are important for running in.

Yes they told me before I ordered. I had the choice, some old chap delivered it. Seemed pretty nice. Not really too worried about running in. I thrashed the balls off my Honda and gave me no trouble.

Had a decent drive, so here are my first impressions.

Inside it looks really good the sat nav is excellent and is very fast to use. Really improves the interior. Climate control seems pretty good too. Some best bits of the interior are the seats which are really supportive and the wheel which is a really nice leather with no buttons (which actually I prefer). Also the seat heaters are awesome - better than my Superb. Also what I like is the black headlining which gives the interior a darker appearance.

Inside bad bits... well it rattles over bumps - somewhere in the glovebox area, not that bothered about it but I might take ten minutes sometime to try and fix it. Also there is no light in the back of the car, so getting the kids in in the dark is a bit... um dark (but then I am spoilt with the interior lighting of the Superb).

Car outside - Looks awesome.. the wheels are very nice and the black looks unusual - it is quite eye-catching. We already have a stone chip on the rear spoiler (of all places) - annoying white undercoat showing through! Need to get a paint pen to fix. Bodywork seems okay - doors rattle a bit when you shut them and metal seems a bit on the thin side. But this is a small car.. so I am being ultra picky.

Driving - This is the best bit. The engine is really great.. I mean really great. I defy anyone not to like it. It has the power in the right places and is a smooth as anything. The sports suspension adds to the handling along with the nice big wheels. I can drive this a lot faster around the a and b roads than my Superb.. no question. The gearbox is also really good. This car is for my wife, but I could happily use it daily if I didn't have my Superb.

SO, after 2 days it is great, lets hope it continues to make us smile...
