BAD BATTERY?

Featured Replies

HI!

I have this weird problem with my car!

When I normally start my car its fine, it starts rapidly and direct as i should, but if I leave the power on( radio, interior lighting and xenons will be on)and run in to get something I for an example forgot the car battery is dead or starts just and just.

Is my car battery bad or is it something else, I just think it´s weird that the car starts so good if I start it directly. I think the battery is original and the car is from 2006 so...

Thanks!

A Battery isnt that expensive these days i would replace it.

OOPS -JUST noticed your location -so might/might not aplicable .

Might be worth a trip to one of the fast fit places to get battery/chargeing system tested .I,ve got one locally that will do both ,but doesent fit alternators , so on that front are impartial . Charging system is easy to check - get yourself a cheap voltmeter ( even small digital ones are cheap and accurate enough) -check battery - should be above 12-12.5.start car , turn on all electrics ,get someone to rev engine above idle -battery volts should be about 13.5 -13.8 .Don't forget that at low temperatures the voltage will fall . Checking the battery requires specialist load testers . Hope that helps .

My car isn't even 4 years until April and my battery is failing.

62ah is smaller than what Skoda fitted to mine, 70 ah

Mine got replace at 4 and a bit years with a bosch/varta silver.

Are Bosch and Varta the same battery?

Yep, exactly the same except for the labels stuck on them. Vartas tend to be bit cheaper in the UK, but both have the same warranty.

Didn't know that, learn something every day. Them Varta's are good. My old 2003 PD 130 Golf is still on the original i believe.

I think my 1 year old battery in my 1 year old Yeti is on the way out. Being checked by dealer on Wednesday.

It was flat on Sunday morning. Not used it for 1 day...... I drive almost every day and did 15,000 miles last year.

And mine at 6 years withthe Bosch Silver , once an old batt starts to give trouble , there is no point in not changing to a new one . They are either fully alive , or Dead .

Bad battery's will get nothing from Santa so be good all you batteries out there.

+1 on the Bosch/Varta.

My 04 Furby needed a new battery this year - it looks like the origonal so that's perhaps a record, but it had been on road every day till last year . Then off road .This year new battery ,as I think the origonal (?) had given up the ghost .
