REMAP Advice

Featured Replies

I may have a somewhat slightly biased opinion (although it is based on a lot of data I've seen over the years) you would be well advised to give Revo serious consideration.

This week we had a 2007 Octavia that delivered 3 consistent runs of 250hp (highest was 251.something) with an ITG panel filter.

The difference is that we quote a realistic 240 and over achieve, where our competitors quote 255 and struggle to get 240..

how much do maps cost{ vrs tsi}?aint nobody saying!!also what about mpg.....mmm250bhp   :thumbup:B) B) B) B)

I would agree with makefish, revo or jabba for me.

I would lean jabba but only due to being able to get a custom jabba map on my door step.

You can do it at home yourself with the bluefin and superchips have been tuning cars since 1977, Turning screws on carbs, Soldering in chips and now remapping.

Oh and mine was £450. With K&N panel filter from demon tweeks.

Mine was £150 for a stage 1, now I'm on stage 2+ with a dyno dynamics RR print out of 280.5bhp.

On the rolling road day I went to there was a Revo'd mk5 Golf Gti which gave very good figures, I'm sure Sy knows whose car it is. From what I've seen Revo can get some superb figures on some cars but others don't run well or don't seem to give as much power as cars with similar mods and same software, strange......

Or with a Shark STS unit which does the same thing.

The bluefin map on the ko3 tfsi is flawed in a big way. They must have sent me 10-15 revised maps which made no difference, essentially low piwer with erratic power delivery. Hence why I swapped to shark who nailed it first time. Lots of guys on the gti forum and on here have had the exact same issues.

Strange thing is they have none of these issues on the KO4 TFSI

What about Apr? Biggest vag tuner bar none

I understand that APR have been a little inconsistent of late + aftersales in this country is not the greatest.

Bluefin are running a 20% discount up until the end of the year £365 claims a 41bhp increase ( the increase is more bhp than my first car mini 998cc)

They charge £7 p&p but if you go to JKM performance they're running the same promotion but have free p&p.

I think in some areas Revo is on a 10% discount too. Good luck

hence why Jim Cotton at Awesome switched to become a Revo agent [from APR]

You can read into that as much as you want, but they changed as revo were taking all the business, so it was financially beneficial to them as a company to offer what sells the most.

Its all about profit at the end of the day

To throw a curve ball in the mix

What about MRC. Very highly regarded in the VAG tuning scene especially with the big power applications. Seem to be the only cpmpany challenging revo with the 2.5TFSI in the TTRs and RS3
