Mapped Vrs Tfsi V standard vectra VXR

Featured Replies

Tfsi stage 1 with no other mods 240 would be the upper limit from my experience on the various vag forums over the last 5 or so years. That, and I used to have one so know what it's capable of at stage 1 only. You need other mods such as performance downpipe and intake to get to 250 - 260.

Just because a car puts out more than it should standard doesn't necessarily mean it will put out more when remapped compared to a car that was bang on the manufacturers quoted power before remap.

Edit: Just found this post from vRSy that gives a good guide on what you can expect from a TFSI at the various stages etc:

@ jonnovRS a good stage 1 remap will not see more than 235-240hp unless there is an intake, HPFP or fitted plain and simple unless you use awesome-GTIs, AMDtechniks or superchips rolling roads as they give away free Hp in doggybags.

ive have seen probably 15+ stage 1 cars all making that. Plenty of which thought they were running more power after trying other optimistic rollers. I also had my octavia at stage 1, 2 and 2+ bluefin then stage 3, 2 then 1 shark performance so have a good base to compare.

Stage 1 (std intake) 235-240hp

Stage 1 (with induction kit) 240-250Hp

stage 2 (with standard intake and performance downpipe) 250-255hp.

stage 2 (with induction kit and full exhaust system) 260-265hp

stage 2+ 270-280hp (downppe, intake and HPFP) depending on if you have the extras such as intercooler and discharge pipes etc

FWIW my car ran over 287hp on numerous occasions @ stage 2+ on 2 of the above rollers, do i believe it, no, not at all. on JKMs rollers it made 252hp which makes sense as the bluefin stage 2+ was slower than shark performance stage 2 when side by side hence why i changed tuner

  • It would be nice to see the smile wiped of the smug face of a VXR owner tbh as most of the ones I know tend to think they're cars are a cut above the rest

W8 Performance's car made a fraction over 250 bhp on Sharks rollers, that is running a stage 1 Shark, with Evoms.

Tbh it doesn't matter which is faster, at the end of the day the vRS looks........ FTW! B)

That does seem slightly high to me...

Why? mines made 263 with just a shark map, but standard it ran 219! :giggle: always ran on super be it V power or Tesco Momentum.

Because they're 197bhp standard! Was the 219bhp on the same rollers?

The alarm bells would of been ringing for me when it ran 219 as standard

A friend of mine has a standard vxr & its very fast! if anything it has too much power for the chassis.Im not a fan of modern vauxhalls(mine were all astra gte16v,cavalier sri/gsi) but it is a nice car(for a vectra)lol. blooming expensive to tax though,he is paying around £400 tax!

£400 for road tax?!!! That's just silly money and further more a total waste of money!

My vRS TFSi made 270 Bhp and 300lb/ft at Stage 2 on JKM Rollers with the following mods (power wise)

Revo Stage 2

Full Milltek TBE

EVOMS (including relocated DV)

S3 Intercooler and S3 Hoses

APR HPFP

Neuspeed Turbo Discharge Pipe

Neuspeed Intercooler Pipe

In that state of tune my car would quite comfortably beat a VXR Vectra. At just Stage 1 then i think the cars would be more evenly matched mainly due to the torque of the TFSi Engine when mapped.

To put into perspective about Stage 1 maps. My current TSi vRS makes 240bhp and 290lb/ft at Stage 1. I have seen a fair few cars over the past few years with just Stage 1 and i have never seen any make higher than 240bhp from a TFSi with just a map and no other mods.

Peak figures are for willy waving. It's how the curves are before and after. You may have a peak figure that is only a 30bhp increase at max RPM. But you may have a 50bhp increase in the midrange which is were you will do most of your driving.

Its gonna be a case of tortoise and the hair, Just get on with it!

yes it was.

yes it was.

So, +40bhp then. Roughly. Only way you can compare is before and afters on the same rollers, and really only the same day. Far too many variables otherwise.

I almost bough a VXR Vectra after I sold my octy vRS, I wad hugely impressed by the mapped one I drove which wss a Stage 1 280hp model. The mid range grunt was impressive but it did die off at the top eend.

I actually drove it expecting the chassis to be crap, but id say it was easily equal to if not better than the vRS in the handling department.

And that top gear review doesn't reflect thecar as they removed the fuse that controls the traction control obviously not caring that it also controls the electrically adaptive damper system that they run.

Prefered the mazda 6MPs though.

Theymske good power and torque standard but monster torque when mapped

That's an impressive swell in the middle!

Still a vauxhall with a dull, bland interior. It needs to be fast, so you can drive fast enough into a wall and kill yourself.

If I had a dollar etc etc...

Sharks Rollers are known to be one of the Heartbrake rollers, we have seen consistent figures between their rollers and the ones at RS Tuning's

A car that made 240 on JBS's only made 205 on Sharks so i doubt there over reading

Consistent figures doesn't mean that they're accurate.

With those extra cc's, cyclinders and ponies on the straight the vxr will be off. However econemy is measured in miles per garage.

I own a vectra sri and it will be my last vx , the vectras a souless lump.

I reckon the vxr will get off the line faster (they're 4wd i think?) but there will be no more than a car length in it at the finish line if a rolling start from 30mph.

Vectra vxr is fwd with no lsd. Insignia vxr os 4wd.

I Love you Harry :thumbup::rofl:

It's no worse than an Octavia/Fabia, to be fair!

Interior wise, you cannot compare a vauxhall to a Skoda I'm sorry.

Having recently had an Insignia SRI when my car was being repaired i can tell you categorically that Vauxhall interiors are fooking dull and are nowhere near the quality of Skoda. I'd rather look at a Seat Leon interior!!!
