New Member with no full beam on his Felicia

Featured Replies

Hello there!

I currently have no full beam lights, wipers or heater fan on a 1998 Skoda Felicia.

Pressing the lights switch on the dash does nothing. I can only ever turn on the sidelamps. I can however put full beam on if I flash (so I know its not the bulbs), but because I can't turn the main lights on it'll never hold full beam.

The car however seems to think the lights are always on as every time I open the door the alarm sounds to remind me to turn the lights off. Pressing the button on the dash makes no difference to this.

I haven't driven it for 2 months (shame on me, I've been living in London) but I have noticed in the past that the lights switch on the dashboard did get hot to the touch everytime I drove the car. I imagine its got something to do with what's happened now but I have little understanding about electronics etc.

I do know that its not a blown fuse in the main fuse box under the dash.

Any help would be much appreciated... garages round here, quite fairly, have closed over Christmas.

Welcome, and have a great Christmas.

Sorry cant help with your problem though.

There is an area on the forum for Felicia owners, might be best to post there.

checked earth connections? especially the yellow cable from starter motor. seems not all too uncommon.

as for the warning buzzer, probably the rear fog light is on. (dont think it'll actually turn on without dipped beams, but buzzer will still sound when door open)

oh and welcome :)
