Anyone bought any HID kits for under £50? I'm looking for some

Featured Replies

I will probably buy a kit for £50/60.00 however on ebay there seems to be a lot for £39.00 etc.. Does anyone know if they are any good? they seem to be top rated sellers

Slims have smaller ballasts do can fit in smaller locations. Id recommend a slim kit over standard.

D2S is merely a bulb type. The type found in OEM xenons.

If youre inconciderate and like blinding other road users then definately worth it =P

Remember that for this reason they are not for road use and will fail an MOT. (just so you have all the information)

Which HID kit? H7 slim kit. In 6000k IMO.

Yeah, I have h7 normal bulbs at the mo? So do the hids h7 just plug into where the bulbs plug onto the wire?

Yeh, with the inclusion of the ballasts. It's all plug and play. You'll just have to drill a hole in the back of the headlight casing for the wires and grommet, secure the ballasts and upgrade the fuses. They'll come with instructions.

I don't mind blinding other people as long as I can see.

And they'll pass fine where I get my MOT done. (just so YOU have all the information)

Pretty much exactly what I said mate, it's fine if you're inconciderate and they should fail an MOT - if you get your car inspected somewhere that will pass HIDS without beam control, washers and levellers I'm sure they won't appreciate you broadcasting it on a public forum.

I just hope for your sake that if your dangerous lights do cause someone to have an accident due to not being able to see anything it doesn't have a family in it. Your choice if you wanna be that guy - at least you're willing to publicly announce you don't care ;)

Wow.

Just as long as those blinded people don't crash into you instead 'ey?

Still, look out for number one and screw the rest of the world - explains a lot about the behaviour you see daily in every aspect of life. emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

I bought my bulbs from there. Recommended from a mate who's used their HID kits for years

With projectors becoming readily available in the new year via the group buy wouldnt it be worth just waiting till then?

You don't need levellers or washers, and please don't post the 2006 article, check the general maintenance section and you'll see a link in the first post under HIDs page 28 of the document.

My HIDs were standard fit but didn't have washers or leveller do that proves that they pass the MOT no probs!

4300k is what I'd go for. Closer to OEM colour or at least it used to be.

Mdon, thanks for settling the debate on washers and levellers, I can be rest assured now ;) I have bought some hids now with 6000k :) The help from members has been very useful, so thanks everyone.
