Yup, gotta go with green but I understand why you had to go with red. Shame though.

I've got 2 lovely tins of the old shade of hammerite green to do all four on my L&K when the weather's better now my warranty's run out.;)

If not for the money, I would have definiatley kept the S3 rears, if I had of done the set up would have been green!

Well, the brakes were fitted today and they look drool2.gif as the car was delivered back yesterday evening and I haven't bothered with pictures, but I will take a few later when it stops pishing down. Something I have noticed though, the disc only shows signs that the pad is contacting with half of it, approximately the outer 50% in fact??? Is this normal for newly fitted brakes, bearing in mind that nothing is new! One other question for any brake geeks out there, is there any reason why the front 312mm set up couldn't be fitted on the rear?

You wouldn't notice that much difference IF the 312s were fitted to the rear, surely?

Visually they would look better I suppose

The rear caliper incorporates a cable operatied handbrake, the front caliper does not.

:wonder:

Harry, it was more for looks than function tbh, I really wish I could have kept the S3 rears but money was tight! :'(

Managed to get a few pictures today in between showers, so here's a sneak preview........

No issues like others on needing to grind the edges to fit?

:swear: That picture was taken 10 minutes after a 2 hour clean........!

Must be just brake dust on those nice silver wheels then:)

ETA : Those calipers do look fantastic. How keener do they bite under the pedal?

I was going to say it is Dirty too Lee, but 2 hours is not enough , just done mine 4 hours 10 mins but I had all the wheels off and is as clean underneath as it is on top, getting a sett off Koni FSD next week, new bushes and uprated drop links, your Brakes look AWESOME

You lot have too much time on your hands. I haven't been able to clean my (all be it not vrs) estate since June :'( Looks like I will have to pay some foreigners to do it again, but its never to the standard I want

:@ The wheels are anthracite..........I must admit, the picture doesn't do it justice, in the metal it looks schweet!!

Regarding the braking, I hate to use the term but - OMG - it quite literally stops on a sixpence, after the remap upgrading the brakes is easily the best mod I have down.

Looking good Alan, let me know how you get on with the FSD's been thinking of getting them myself, or coilovers?

FYI, I did spend 4 hours cleaning, but that included 2 hours on swmbo's car as well! :p

To be fair, the sausage rolls near me do a spanking job, I had them do swmbo's Golf in preparation for paint correction, shaved a couple of hours of the detailing session.

The joke was the wheels were anthracite Pagey..... :)
