Advice - Clutch kit (inc fly and & bearing), timing belt (inc pulley & water pump)

Featured Replies

Right, after 4 years as a driving school car, and kicking out 180/312 after a Jabba remap, my clutch is on its last legs. My timing belt is also overdue, so it may as well be done whilst the car is in and things are in bits. Got some prices from ECP and GSF for the bits, and going to be speaking to a couple of garages I've used in the past about fitting. Is there anything I need to know about which clutch kit may be better, or more suited to the extra grunt (heard LUK ones cope better), and any other tips to make this as smooth, painless and cheap as possible. I read on here that the engine mount bolts should be replaced, is this right ?

All advice greatly appreciated.

nothing to specifically know, other than using OE quality parts (such as SACHS or LUK) and possibly replacing the waterpump at the same time as the belt!

Yes both the engine mounting bolts and the gearbox mounting bolts should be replaced.

Clutch done. Plate, DMF, slave cylinder and release bearing all done for £741  Great to be able to use the power again though.
