  • Here are the pics as I promised. Full re-trim in nappa and alcantara leather with red stiching to match the rest of the interior. The backs were painted the same colour as the car. Black Magic Pearl.

  • Some night shots:               and some not that fancy day shots to give you a better idea of how it looks.

and pics with the new badge on. Badge numbered 1ST 853 601A AUL is perfect for the front of the car. The back is another story - will post info when I'm done.

Still can't believe this isn't a vrs.

Looks stunning as usual :D

Question - tried to get the middle air vent out (double one) but seems stuck fast - any screws holding it in?

Not screws but two metal clamps that go into the unit and you will never be able to remove the trim unless you remove the whole center console.

When I tried I didn't know that and I broke them - the trim snaps back fine but it is not nice to know that you broke it :(

Damn!

Well I popped to see my mate who is a Maclaren bodyshop specialist and he has taken out the radio surround, dash pod and two side vents for painting - he's done them already so going back in tonight :)

I'll get him to remove the centre console carefully then! He's also doing the DSG gear knob surround like yours its just bigger and surrounds the P R N D(+ -) S.

Thanks for the help!

The air vents are not to bad to do the middle one was a pain to do what a pain to get out and back in the radio & gearbox surround are very easy to do and the door pull's are on to bad to do

Dash pod is by far the best I think - 32K gave me lots of inspiration! :D

My dial rings were chrome/silver to start with so left them as they were.

Tiny update - for a while now I was looking for a proper spot to place my phone. After a bit of search online I've found this mount (it works for both left and right hand drive cars regardless of what the pic shows):
http://www.mytrendyphone.com/shop/dash-mount-skoda-36871p.html

that neatly can be screwed right behind the trim of our head unit making the whole thing look quite stealthy. The cradles that can be bought for this mount are very expensive (already the mount costed me 19euros!) and in most cases they are phone specific so for now I've decided to reuse an old 5euro universal cradle I had lying around. Some extra strength sticky tape on the back and Bob's your uncle! So far it works fine and I like the fact that it sits on the same level as my head unit. Overall I'm happy

Only one more thing to do.... Smoke your rear lights ???? :)

Why does your glove box release have a red light on it? is that ambiente lighting? or just a reflection?! :)

How on earth did you spot that? yeah seems like some reflection issue. The release is the same like yours :)

you fitted your rear badge yet Emanuel

you fitted your rear badge yet Emanuel

Yes I did yesterday!. Took me a while to install and it is very tricky due to the recess which I filled up with dirko silicone. Only negative is that when I tapped the badge overnight I think the tape dragged and angled the badge slightly. It is hard to realise the mistake but i know it is there and it is bugging me. I will post pics and you let me know if I'm too picky.

Again big thanks Alan :)

The new skoda badge is not good to fit to the back of the fabia :swear: the one i fitted is slightly out but you need to look real hard to see it :nerd:

Got my new wheel badge at the weekend  now need to find time to fit them :)

Did a very short test with my GoPro HD. Excellent little camera but the mic is a bit crap. :wonder:

Very nice. Your car sounds awesome too!

  • 1 month later...

Love it! I take it your going to be painting it black ?

Ok! I think it is time to paint this crap blue and then drop it in the sea.:rofl:

I am joking of course, I am a bit jealous (that's a lie, I do jealous a lot) and yes I am really curious to see the car finished... if ever... But if so then it will be a real masterpiece. A thousand times Bravo!!
