Forge 007P in reverse

Featured Replies

Hi, Im thinking of reversing my 007P as I want to be able to put the engine cover back on as its getting ruined in the shed. Does anyone have a picture of one fitted in reverse? I understand that it may sound like a strangled cat but I need to at least try it :D .

Just cut the bulge bit off the cover. When I had a 007P on mine I had it fitted normally but had a piece of foam stuck to the bottom of that bulge bit so the 007P didn't rattle.

as above, chop the cover

Hi There I doubt you will get any pics as no one on here would have fitted or kept the DV in Reverse as the sound is awful.

Folks would have kept it std way but probably done one of these options:

- Remove cover

- cut corner section off cover where DV is and round it off(i did this prior to removing cover completely)

- Sleeve the DV hose to protect it

- Leave cover as is but check the hose regularly

If you still want to reverse it, is so easy as the DV will only fit 2 ways, the right way or in reverse. This will enable the DV hose to sit right out the way if that is what you are after

Thanks for quick replies. I'll put on in reverse to try it first off. If its as bad as everyone says then I'll chop the corner off. :)

Keep the cover off.. you'll only take it off next week when you're replacing coil packs anyway! haha :smirk:

Mine fits fine with the cover on

How bout a dump valve relocation kit to the cold side of the inter cooler

my cover still fits with my 007p

as above mine fits with it on!!

Same here, my cover is on above the 007P!

I fail to see what the purpose is of knowingly fitting the DV the wrong way round?

What performance gains do you expect?!?

Steve

When you get the forge cold side kit you put the dv the'wrong' way so does it matter?:wonder:

Alternatively, get Forge to send you a new top for your DV, but with the adjustable radial spigot.

It's what I did for mine, and now it fits perfectly under the standard cover with zero rub.

Im not expecting any gains, lol Im planning on selling the car soon and wanted to put the cover back on without the new owner having the kinked pipe problem that I had. I prefer cover off myself but the engine looks rough with no cover (unless you have chrome everywhere  ) I was going to take the Forge off and refit the Bosch one but it looks as if thats been thrown away :o The spigot idea sounds good to me.

Coil packs are 3 months old :p

Put my 007 on this morning and refitted engine cover no problems

Definitely keep it off.. 3 months! Ready to pop. Only joking mate :giggle:

Simon J, thanks for the offer but I may have got round it. Fitted it in reverse and car feels exactly the same to drive. Only difference is the ping sound when lifting off at full boost but with the engine cover back on its barely noticeable. Im going to run it for a bit this way to make sure its all OK. How much do you want for your Bosch DV?
