HTC Sensation XE

My XE came with an 8gb card

That's the one! Mine came with an 8GB too I remember now as I sold my Desire with it in as I had a 16GB card at the time that was in the Desire that I used in the Sensation until I got the 16GB one... memory cards coming out of my ears! lol

If you have a 16 class 6 or 10, that'd sort SWMBO out.

I will check what it is when I get in. I'm fairly certain it is a 6 but not sure. It's just sat doing nothing at the moment.

Will PM later.

I copied over a few of my data files on to the new 8gb card to help with Angry Birds :D and Colour Notes (thier Beta Google Sync didn't work for me) and after a bit of mucking about I got everything to work again on the XE. Battery life a little better today as I haven't started to play Clouds and Sheep yet :)

Briskoda to the rescue again!!

I'm going to order a Sensation, along with that bigger battery on pay day and save myself a few quids.

Cheers folks :)emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Okay 'peeps', what's the Sensation XL like for internet stuff and battery life?

That's all I need.

The Anker 1900mah battery does get great write ups  and is half the price fo the aneation battery.!! I am seriously thinking of getting one as a spare now :(

An update of my battery situation is, after the second full charge, the battery lasted about 14 hours with medium use (and about an hour of Clouds and Sheep/Angry Birds). So the battery is improved by a reasonable amount on yesterdays performance. Here's hoping I get a couple of days improvement yet :) Will try a nice DC charge off my lappy tomorrow night and see if that gives a boost too

Yes it is a good battery and I can easily get over 19 hours of medium use out of it.

A setting that I found has made a huge difference to battery life is to untick "Enable always-on mobile data" which disables data when not in use.

Charging from a USB port can also help with the battery as it is a lower current than the A/C charger.

I don't know a great deal about the XL but it's pretty similar really in terms of it's spec to the Sensation/XE. In terms of battery life it is likely to be along the lines of the Sensation as it has a bigger battery but a bigger screen also.

AAmazon have 2x Anker batteries AND a charger for £15.

That's a bargain!

I have noticed another slight improvement in the battery today, suggesting I might be able to make it for a full day. Part of the problem is I go to places where reception is poor, or the network is jammed (large sporting events). The phone then goes into a permanent handshake mode, of boosts output and the battery can die in a matter of hours if you don't turn the data connection off all together :).

First thing I did was to untick the 'always on' feature. The only downside is I no longer have a nice handwarmer :D

As for charging from the USB, I think the major benefit is the smoother DC supply you can get form the laptops battery, as opposed to the more choppy mains derived recharger. I know the electric model car racers swear by using car batteries to recharge for this reason (I worked with a fanatical racer for many years ), plus of course as you say, the trickle charge helps too

I recently got a Sensation XE Beats.

The Beats audio thing works really well with some music, and it's really crap with other types- there is very little middle ground.

I'd describe the sound as unfocussed and soupy. There's no recognisable soundstage, no detail, just lots of attitude and bass.

If you listen to a lot of drum & bass/modern R'n'B/dubstep, you'll love it.

If you like your music with a little bit of detail and subtlety, sell the buds you get with the phone and grab a pair of Sennheisers or something.

Regarding the phone itself, it's a joy to use. The software is intuitive and easy. The texting is surprisingly good, which is a surprise having come from a candybar phone. The performance is sensational- knocks my sister's iPhone 4S into the weeds. It's apparently faster than the Sensation XL (think that's rated at 1.2GHz?). Starts up very quickly, haven't been able to make it freeze yet. The battery I find very acceptable, again, comparing to an iPhone it's very good. Going to look into the (w)Anker batteries though. :giggle:
