Wow...... That looks like a complete failure of the wheel! Glad your ok!

Wow thats a first for me! Never seen that before. Glad your ok though mate

Wow that looks bad! Luck you're alright.

I've seen one on here from a while ago where a stone was caught between the calliper and the inside of the rim, scoring it. It broke clean in two, and looked like a split rim.

That looks a lot more rough though and doesn't look like the same thing.

Sorry if this is a bad time to ask...

What are you doing with the leather trim?

Ouch!

Considering it's been upside down though, it looks pretty good cockpit wise.

Yikes that's awful, bit worrying lol. Wonder what caused the wheel to do that. Well done for getting pics up. Damage doesn't look that bad considering.

Are you sure this was caused by the alloy fracturing? Such an accident would have put severe stress on that wheel and hence could have been initiated otherwise destroying the wheel in the process? e.g. a blowout as suggested?

If you look at the photos there is severe scoring on both parts of the wheel which would suggest that the wheel was in one piece when the scoring took place. If the wheel had fractured prior to the accident it would have split apart and the scoring from the accident would not be consistent across the wheel. Easily checked by matching the parts of the wheel and the scoring. I suspect that the fracturing was as a result of the accident.

Looks like kerb or pothole damage.

Condition isn't that bad considering

Ouch man - glad your ok though. As everyone says; it's just a car that can be replaced. You cannot! ;)

Scary though - hope nothing like that happens to anyone else or selfishly my VRS SE!

Sorry - I didn't realise the tyre was still on the rim and still apparently inflated.

thats scary!

Car doesn't look like a write off? Might live another day! :o

Certainly seen far worse damage than that repaired. Worth looking into.

Carl.

Glad your ok mate. Could you raise it with Skoda UK as a safety issue? The car's 4-5 years old so surely you wouldn't expect anything like that to happen..

I see your tire is still attached and inflated. Would this rule out pot hole damage? as you'd expect the tire to puncture and possibly have a dent in the wheel??

glad your ok mate not a nice event bieng flipped and spun main thing is your alive

but im thinking there must be more to this did it defo veere of to the left shaply ? or just felt loss of steering as the wheel looks like it was split when it was on its side as the marks match up not trying to say your fibbing its just im currious to know how this happend as i have the same alloys on my fabia and has got me paranoid now as there powder coated aswell a little more info on the crash would be nice if you dont want go into detail tell me f=to bugga of i understand but the car looks to be repairable aslong as the roof isnt creased or dented bad as most insurance companys cat b cars that have flipped but that looks easliy repairable hope you get paid out and every think goes well

Personally I think something breaking in the steering linkage may have caused this, from the "suddenly veered off" comment - but we're not going to know for definite unless a specialist examines the car.

Wow that looks nasty! I'd certainly want the insurance to write that off! Personally if it was my car I wouldn't want to accept that back after its fixed and drive it again! :(

thats nasty, glad your ok! i have seen something similar regards the wheel failure before but not on a vrs.. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Didn't this happen to a few Octavia RS's? I'm glad your ok buddy...Hope its a quick and easy process getting a new car, or fixing the SE! :)

:swear: me!!!

Sorry but that was the first thing actually said when I saw the pics!

Just to echo what everyone else has said, pleased you're okay!

Has it put you off getting another Vrs then or not?

WOW!
