Ok, so I thought I better start a progress thread for my Fabia VRS. My previous car was a Clio 182 full fat:

Had to get rid of it. I loved it, It was very quick and handled really well. I even spent more money to get a mint example but it still cost me about 2k in 6 months with faults, I will never buy french again!

So I purchased the VRS privately from a guy in Brighton, he had it since new, it was his wifes town car, FSH and it had 26,000 miles on the clock! It was first registered in 2004 and had a private plate *** VRS. It has OEM leather interior with Red Trim and these are the photos when it was up for sale:

As soon as I got it I booked in to have all belts done and I had the the grille, door handles and sidestrips colour coded:

Next, I picked up some octavia VRS spider alloys. I found someone local selling some WRC edition wheels in white but they had bigger winter tyres on that didn't fit the Fab. I changed all four corners for Kumho Ecsta KU39 205/40/17

Some other bits:

- Alpine W203RI Double Din Headunit

- Superpro Dogbone Mount

- Changed Gearbox oil for Fuchs Titan.

- Stubby Aerial

- LCR Splitter(not yet fitted)

Any comments welcome, more to come....

Wow! :o

Beautiful car in what looks to be great condition! :) 24k on the clock sounds very low and the leather trim is spot on! In what region did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats :)

Thanks! :)

Yes, he spared no expense with it. Low mileage ones seem to be between 6k-7k and I got it at a good price, probably slightly below what it's worth but it took me a long long time to find this one. It popped up on ebay and I spotted it within 5 mins of it being listed, I rang him, asked what price and said I'd drive down that night to leave a deposit! He also owned a new BMW 320d soft top and a brand new Range Rover...

One thing I can't seem to get right is the headunit in my fabia... I've just installed the JVC CDE-AVX720 and I just think it looks out of place... I don't want to go back to standard as the sound quality is pants. I could go to single DIN aftermarket, I'm not sure...

Photos I just took on my iPhone:

Just some minor updates.

Bought a new MAF, that fixed MPG issues I was having.

Removed the JVC Double Din and sold it, back to standard now:

312mm brakes fitted:

It's a night and day difference now in braking, they are so much better!

Sorry for poor photos, once the car has been cleaned this weekend, I'll take some better ones.

TBH, I like the look of the W203ri headunit, think it looks good in a fabia and doesn't look out of place.

Still got it knocking around?

I think the Spiders would look good in Audi grey, wether they'd go well with the red is another question.

Why change it back to standar head unit? The double din looked sweet!

It was a nice headunit but I just couldnt get on with it. I'm fine with the standard headunit for now, might get something in the future.

Yeah, looking at my spiders now, I dont think they look too bad in the white.

Sold that headunit as well. It definately suited it more than the JVC in my opinion.

Soon as payday gets here, I'm ordering eibach springs and Whiteline RARB

I went for H&R 30mm springs rather than 25mm Eibachs. I know the Eibachs are highly rated but the H&R are widely used accross the VAG range and reviewed very well. I wanted to be that little bit lower emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Hoping to get them fitted as soon as possible although my mechanic seems to have gone AWOL and I can't get hold of him!

Been having a bit of nightmare... My Mechanic had just got back from Thailand, he got really ill... supsected could be malaria!

It would cost me a fortune if I paid a garage to fit it all. I'm going to try and get some bits fitted myself but I'll need to pay a garage to do bushes and springs.

In the meantime, I just bought a hybrid PD130 so will be getting that fitted aswell...
