Koni FSD damper - leaking badly.

Featured Replies

Had a really bad banging noise tonight, seemed to be coming from the rear. When I got home, checked underneath and there was hydraulic fluid all over the place. The shock absorber was covered in it. Rocked the driver's rear corner and caused the same banging noise. So I know its the damper.

I note from the previous previous owner these were fitted 4.5 years ago. Not sure if that is about right for a set of Koni dampers to last.

Can I get just a pair of Koni FSD rears?

Will it be ok to replace the rears with something different? Suggestions?

I have just ordered some, part no 4090 and heard that the originals were "iffy" it is not how long but how many miles they have done . I had a lexus ony 3 and half years old at the time which burst on me when the Belgum motoway I was on a concrete section had dropped and the car bottomed out, that was £250 for ONE damper, what a shocker :giggle: . You have to buy as a sett £458 from Larkspeed but will be cheaper for a Fabia.

Currently on 110k, serviced in 08/07 @ 70k (shocks fitted around July 07)

So approximately 40,000 miles of use.

Is that acceptable?

Don't motorsportworld sell them seperate or contact koni direct see if they can supply you a set

I though Koni came with a lifetime warranty with their dampers. I don't know if this would be covered. I also don't know if you could claim if you didn't have the receipt for them (being fitted by previous owner). It might be worth a try asking them.
