Wanted 55 plate low mileage silver or black Octy VRS

Featured Replies

I am looking to find a replacement for my yellow 2002 Octy VRS. I am looking to pay between £3k and £4k for a low mileage 55 plate Octy VRS in good condition

There are a few for sale on ebay and autotrader but i figured asking about on here had to be a good bet as this is where most of the better skodas live.

if anyone has such a vehicle for sale of knows of someone looking to sell one please let me know.

my 2002 model has done 104k and has served me really well, hence the wish to change her for a newer model which i can hopefully keep for years to come.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

not being funny, but i have an 05 with relatively low miles and would never sell it for this little (regardless of what anyone says it is worth).

When 100k plus 01 and 02 plates go for 2kj i think you'll be seriously lucky to get one for this amount

Why not invest in the Octavia u have I mean better the devil u know than the devil u don't , 3 k should bring even the roughest of octavian up to life

is it wort spending that cash on the Same car n starts allover again ?

You are never getting a HPI clear 55 reg octavia vrs mk2 low mileage for £4,000 you will get a rough example of one that as over 100k for that prob damaged repaired anyways all the best with finding one at your price budget, cheers

funny you should say that about the 02 plate - so far for my 02 plate with 104k miles has attracted offers ranging from £300 to £1,300. some people just want to steal it off you. the guy who offered me £300 i apologised to him and said he was just a bit late with the offer and i had already accepted an offer of £250 and the even had the cheek to say don't let it go so cheaply i will offer you £320.

i know what you are saying about what these are worth. they are a great car and i have had 4 years trouble free motoring from mine but i need a newer one. sadly you only get what someone is prepared to pay which is why i would happily take £2k for mine but i am expecting that someone will try to get it for much less. there are a few on ebay, pistonheads and the trader with about 60 to 75k miles on 05 and 55 plates for £3,500 to £4k so i know they are there for that kind of money, but i am after a good one and just don't want to rush out and buy the first one that i see.

if my car was not 9 years old i would keep her a while longer but i am wanting to start afresh with a different colour and one which has no mods and keep this car for ages - hence the wanting to find the youngest Mk1 VRS that i can.

thanks for your reply though as it all helps me gauge what i am going to have to pay to get a good late plate Mk1

just meaning that for many performance cars the book value doesn't factor in their "exclusivity" and so will undervalue them compared to their actual selling prices

just buy the best condition one you can and keep the old bird as a spare parts supply - problem sorted

Lee is requeting a Mk1 VRS which the 55 plate are the last ones and not a MK 2 VRS. So £4000 will start to get him a reasonable one.

sorry guys i should have been more clear. it is a late Mk1 i am after not a Mk2. and i was hoping £4k would get me a decent one. i have seen some 30k milers going for over £5k but i was thinking more of a 50 to 60k mile example.

either way i am not in a big rush as i have my current octy to drive so i will wait till the right one comes along but hopefully one will turn up. if not i might have to go to plan 'b' and get some money pumped into mine - a new set of wheels, fmic and new turbo (as mine has done 104k now and has been running over 220 bhp for most of that mileage), some cupra r brembos and then just keep on running her

It has been mentioned that the old mk 1 is better made than the newer mk 1.

I know that my 52 plate rs was quieter than my 04 plate.

You would be better off spending money on your car.

I have said it before and I will say it again in my opinion these cars offer fantastic value for money in all areas. Mine is a 2001 but looks no where near its age nor does it drive like. I believe these cars will appreciate in value in the not to distant future!! I wont be selling mine its just not worth it for the money, its a keeper!!!

i have been looking tonight at ebay, piston heads and the trader and i had seen this one. it looks like a good one.

what is this though about early mk1s being better buit than later Mk1s. does anyone else share the same view?

thanks

keep yours mate,

dont get a newer one as the newer ones are not made the same.

I have an 05 plate one Ive had from NEW and last Jan I purchased a 51 plate vRS that had similar mods to mine just one or 2 better things too and it was soo much quieter and less rattly, even tho it was a cat c iirc it had been fixed up well and was top notch, really I broke the wrong car but then mine has been mine and I am the only name on the book and thats how I want it to stay, hence not selling her.

If you have 2-2500 to spend then invest it in the one you have, I know yellow is a marmite colour but still you know its a good one and most of the history, other than the rear wiper arm having a cover on the 53+ ones iirc thats about it, there was no scuff plates on the door sills and simple things like cups on the rear speakers and a colour coded badge on the engine cover. all small things but still add up. not as much pride seemed to go in to the newer ones.

all the best tho mate

thanks for the advice Billy. i will have a think about what you have said. i was assuming that they were all the same and on that basis newer with less mileage is better but apparently this is not so.

might have to see if i can combine the two - a low mileage example of an earlier car. i have just got a thing at the moment for a black or silver one.

when looking for the older better built model when did the transition take place to the potentially less good build. is there a date roughly such as anything up to a 53 plate is grear but not so after that?

the sad thing is that after the passing of the merc 190, mk2 golf and audi 80 avant everything in terms of build quality seemed to head off in the wrong direction and what replaced these solid vehicles were cheap tin cars with paper thin panels in comparison to the oldies which felt like they were made of solid granite

Mine has a coloured engine badge........ Now hehe :giggle:

Mines the wrong colour car tho.... And also way more than £4k lol and thats only on a day that it may be for sell :smirk:

You do see low milers pop up here n there tho so goodluck mate

Maybe not my silly amount of miles :wonder: im sure mines top trumps on that..... Surely ?!?!?!?

Mine was earlyish (52 plate) and didn't come with the sill protectors - I reckon they were an option.

A bl**dy expensive option too, just the front ones cost me about £50 from Skoda! Full set would have been £90+

104k is nothing Lee, it should be run in nicely now. The only person who knows a car has low mileage is the driver, it's not as if when you drive down the road anyone can tell!

I know of 2 VAG 1.8t's (Golf mkiv, & Audi A4) that have over 200k on them, & they're both immaculate, still tight & run perfectly. Ok they're cherished cars that want for nothing, but show that if you service & maintain a VAG car correctly it'll serve you well.

Just look after the car you've got mate.
