Tinting..

Featured Replies

Basically if your front windows are darker than the natural light when the door is open its safe to say 99% of the tints will be illegal to put on.

In lamens terms, ANY front window tint will be illegal, you can have what you want on the rear 3 windows though.

I paid £60 to have my rear windows done, more for the kids benefit really (and I HATE sun blinds)

My old 52 plate vrs had tinted front windows, they were awesome. I wasn't blinded by the sun in the day and not blinded by headlights at night.

Why on earth were they made illegal.

Because it reduces visability when its dim or at night

I never had an issue with my windows.

I would have said they were safer was never dazzled.

Can under stand there would be a limit you don't want a limo tint on the front.

Thing is people do want limo on the front as it looks kool and no one can see who's driving which is good for drug dealing etc lol

Bring bk the good old days when any tint was allowed! My old gsi was limo all round, looked awesome. Only downside (or not) was I had to wind the fronts down at mot time or drive round with the interior light on at night

:giggle:

Any on the front now is illegal and just doin the rear 3 makes it look like a van and looks rubbish IMO hence why ive never bothered again

What gets me tho is the fact range rover and other marques can get away with it. You don't see celebrities being pulled for tints :swear:

Dunno there was a range rover pulled a few months ago on one of the cop shows. Woman rang her husband very peed off telling him to get round and help her get them off lol
