How much lower are standard r32 springs compared to Octy 4x4 springs?

Featured Replies

Hi looking at what springs to look at for my octy 4x4 as I dont want to go too low. am I correct in that the 4x4 ride is 35mm higher than a standard octy? Have ordered some r32 arb's :D

There was a thread a little while ago (6months ?) where this was talked over.

iirc the end result would be slightly lower than a vRS, roughly 10mm rings a bell

If you do go for R32 springs change the dampers too. Not changing the dampers will probably put you in a ditch.

Hopefully one of the other 4x4'ers who looke into this a bit more closely will be along soon-ish

The rear's will be wrong, I'd imagine. More weight in the back of an Octy!

Yes, rear Golf springs and dampers are no good on an octavia. The Octavia has a much heavier back end due to the much bigger boot and overhang. If you fit Golf springs and dampers the back end will sit a lot lower than the front and it will look like your car is going up hill all the time and the handling will be all wrong.

You would be much better getting something designed for the Octavia in the first place and not have to worry about handling and ride height differences between front / back.
