Featured Replies

HI PEOPLE

Just woundering whats the best oil to be putting in my Skoda Octavia VRS Tdi It has 65000 on the clock. The last service it had at a dealer and the put in castrol slx professional powerflow 5w-30. Going to do the service myself this time though. Was look at using Castrol Edge. Anyone got advice for me.

Cheers Rich

Do not get too hung up about the brand, what is important though is the VW spec, you need to use nothing but VW507.00 for a car with a DPF.

Go to your local TPS and get the correct oil from them. Should be a fair bit cheaper than Castrol Edge (which does meet the correct spec IIRC but is very pricey).

hallo rich,

yes i agree the castrol edge is expensive,i have just changed mine i bought from an independent vw/audi/skoda garage, comes from castrol oils,so 507 spec,5 litre cost £27,castrol edge from motor shops £45,and you only get 4 litres.
