  • I found the ride overall better and no more firmer than standard with the H&Rs.

  • The only real comparison I can draw from the 2 different suspension kits is this. I had Eibachs fitted to my 3 previous cars and found them OK if a little crashy at times. It was a bit of a revalatio

Skoda quote 2.0 hours for the job but prices vairy on dealer ring your local dealer for a quote, The part number and labour time are on the EPAC site on skoda desktop (if they are unsure skoda do them)

gonna go for a quote this afternoon! :)

Awesome in Manchester did my Revo Stage 1 (free SPS) with my H&Rs, Revo filter fitted for £700. Great service from them emoticon-0148-yes.gif

All skoda parts hold a 12 month warrenty as do any car accessory company but what you would keep is the warrenty on the rest of your suspension for the 3years from PDI, which fitting non-genuine springs would not support

Cheers for explaining that Kie thats at least better then having no warrenty on the suspention with the state of the roads in this country.

No worries bud

Mine has been lowered on them Eibachs looks good, sits in the arches like it should do now but the ride is a bit firmer i will warn you now!

I paid £125 for the springs and £100 for fitting so hunt around and dont go for the first ones!

Pics in my car thread.

can you give us a more in depth review please? contrary to what people think about my fuel economy threads,(I just find it fun!) I really do wring the vRS's neck when the circumstanses are propitious, as anyone who knows me will testify :p

for example on the last Cumbrian run , I was really enjoying the way you can brake into a corner to set the attitude of the car, you know, just shift the weight a bit to make the back light to aid turn in ect....

is the natural handling ability compromised?

does it for example "skip" over bumps mid corner like my old C2 GT used to? or does it still handle them niceley as the OE setup does....?

I dont mind the ride being harder, but will this compromise and destroy the dampers (like fitting just springs does to the mark I vRS) ?

one of the best ways to improve the car would be traction.... (tyres go a long way as I have already proved) but do the springs aid traction?

thanks in advance if Rob or Jonny or anyone else can answer these for me...

I only live in Egremont so it's probably best for a 'mini meet' and you can test it yourself emoticon-0105-wink.gif

I'd be up for that! I'm actually off this weekend! lol... your car may tempt me into the dark side though as yours is mapped too :S

Think I will wait to see a vRS lowered on these before I pass judgement, not sure 20mm is enough IMO

Right well... When driving normally the set up is the same as before just a little more firm, not a lot just a little ( I can feel it because I drive down ****e roads all the time :/)

But when driving "like the vRS was made to drive" Its soo much better in the corners, I used to be a little scared about throwing into some corners round my way but now I just throw it in and let it do its worse... for example there a series of S bends down a hill near my house and a normal driver would probs stick to about 40-50 round them I wont say how much quick I sometimes go round them but its a bit faster and it sticks like glue, just a faint bit tyre squeak and that was it.

I probably wouldn't have took my car on a track before I got my springs fitted because I wasn't confident with the handling after coming from a little fiesta zetec s which was like a go-kart ( when round the nurburg in it and it was magical ) but now I would take it on any track because I know the limits with the springs and feel much more safer.

I hope that help shark...

And VRS, look at my car thread to see the 20mm drop against a standard blue vRS ;)

Ahhhh I thought yours was 35mm bud, me likey!

Did your insurance do anything (provided you mentioned it :giggle: )? go up/down?

Just wondering?

Also the eibachs look nicely fitted and the wheels fill the arches fine. I might be interested in a set!

Also wondering this with it being a Skoda fitted part/accesory...is it insurance declarable?

Yes, it's a change from a factory specification.

Yes it does add something to your policy, I haven't got round to it yet but adding my black vinyl roof cost £17.50 so adding a set of sports springs will cost a little bit.

I will have a go this week and see what they say and will report back.
