Which 3 button Key fob?

Featured Replies

Just had selective locking enabled on the octy, forgot that it means that the boot stays locked with the single press lol. Instead of unenabling selective locking I remembered that the 3 button fob will work, so I've done a search but the ebay links are long dead so could someone tell me which fob I need please and a suitable hammer to use to smash a window when I lock the keys in the boot :giggle:

Mine is HLO 1J0 959 753 AH

how do you get selective unlock to work?

Make sure to get the 1J0 part number, 1K0 is for the Mk2 and I don't think it will work with our cars.

Yes I would like to know please also.......

You'll need Vcds

Full version of VCDS will do it

If i got one of these would the bottom part of my fob fit? My link

Seen 2 part numbers begining with 1j, HLO 1JO 959 753 DA or HLO 1JO 959 753 AH

Will both work?

Could try giving your local dealership a call and ask for a part number and price for a 3 button fob, if you give them your reg number they should be able to give you the right part no for your car.

I think (from past posts) the two letters at the end of the part number depend on the frequency of the transponder so you want one that goes with your car. Saying that one of the members near me has got an Audi 3 button one which works on his VRS (that was supplied by a car locksmith after he lost his keys)

so does this mean you can change a 2 button fob to a 3 button?

You'll need Vcds

Any chance of a "how to" for those that have Vcds?

Please?

Yes it does.

Just be really careful when you transfer the immobiliser chip over. They are a very delicate tiny tiny glass tube and often glued in!

It's then a matter of swapping the key blades over then programming it in using the drivers door lock (search on here there's a guide).

So does this also do the auto closure of the windows from the keyfob? Anyone local to the Wirral with VCDS wanting to practice their skills? :)

Right took my ke apart and the code ended with AG. Whent through the old posts and found the guy that was asking had the same code as mine and he got one with the code ending in DA. So i know it'll work.

Simon you said yours ened with AH, do you have your old one? would be interesting to see if it ended in AG so then we know we can get either
