Fabia Door Carrier seal repair - illustrated

Featured Replies

After sealing my front door, I have found that water is now seeping in from around the bottom of the MAIN SPEAKER seal, so I will be removing the speaker and resealing it.

Sounds like the gully is blocked and the entire door is filling up with water. This happened on my mother 6 month old Rapid! :o

I never realised this was such a common issue on Fabia's, only just got one yesterday I'd better go check see if I have any issues

Bottom of one of my back doors was blocked with glass from a bust window in its past.

Sorted now though.

I used these clips, which are prefect and have a little rubber washer ....

eBay number: 190801191780

One tube of plumbers gold is plenty.

Another thumbs up for me. Found out (the hard way) that my driver's side rear door was leaking bad during the last few days of heavy rain. Bought some clips and plumbers gold (thanks jars) and got cracking. The carpet in the back of my Fabby has been dry for two days now (The smell of 'wet dog' has also gone!)

Excellent write up @DRJ and easy to follow. I've just completed the repair on my OSR door carrier thanks to you and the other members who've posted in this thread.

I don't believe it !!!!!! Photobucket is even blocking that link except for the index - but clicking on the pictures there they're still blocked! Anyone know how I can link without the blocking occurring?

I ended up using this YouTube video, and it was soooo easy.

20 minute job max for any novice.

I've just had to redo my rear passenger side. I'd used "roof and gutter" sealant. A bitumen based sealer. It's completely dried out, become crusty and cracked.

Scraped the lot off and used Plumber's Gold.
