Evening,

So after getting my waste gate actuator rod clip fitted last week another rattle returned this morning on my way to work so I had a small detour via City Skoda Basingstoke, a mechanic came out and had a look and told me it was the Purge Valve which was making a loud ticking sound. Anyone else had this problem? Can someone explain to me what a purge valve does?!

It does two things, one it takes fuel vapours from your fuel tank and burns them in the engine (emissions things) , two it acts an airflow for your fuel tank so replaces fuel with air to equal pressure in the fuel tank.

Ticking just means its working and if you arnt getting an engine light or a fault code id leave it alone lol
