Second Hand Superb

Featured Replies

Following on from some of the other threads that have been going on recently about the Superb, I thought I'd check out the prices of second hand models, purely out of interest. I managed to find a V6 Elegance model in Buckinghamshire for

The oil-burners will be the most popular.

Nice big smooth V6, for that money, is tempting.

It'd drink a fair amount of optimax but it's a great alternative to a 5 series :).

"although the interior is tan leather and not black (ick!) "

Guess it's a personal thing but I think the tan is gorgeous and gives the interior a much lighter air than the 'coalmine black' - you need a dark exterior paint to go with it though.

My dealer still has their 02 reg demo 2.5 V6 TDI superb in stock! It was originally priced up at

This weeks Autocar has a page on their long term V6 TDi.

FWIW I had the same engine in my last Audi A4 Quattro - a very understressed engine which chips nicely :)

After yesterday's experience with black leather on a hot day, I'd change to tan (maybe not in the RS mind). :(

I know what you mean -I had a Mondeo with black leather seats.

1st degree burns of the buttocks -and never, ever, drive with shorts on.....

Phil:eek:

Just bought a 52 - 2.8V6 Elagance Tiptronic Auto 7500 miles in Mystery Blue Full leather ivory seats and tow bar for 15999 - saw the black one detailed through showroom window think its a manual - looks in excellent condition.

Pick up the car next weekend, 28mpg:eek: but thats a small price for the lovely engine note. Anyone any experience with Tiptronic??

Really wanted a manual 2.8v6 as when I drove one in CZ was well impressed.

Anyone any experience with Tiptronic??

- still have the RS for frills :D

No - Wish I did, though (you lucky ***!). That would be the ideal compromise between the convenience of an automatic and the control of a manual gearbox.

I can probably locate one (or maybe two) article(s) along the lines of "advanced driving with an automatic transmission" if you want to take a look - otherwise just stick it in "D" and rest assured that (most of the time) it's going to be in the right gear at the right time.

John , congratulations on your Superb , hope you enjoy it , but not as much as the vRS though ;)

BTW , Mystery Blue , haven't heard of that colour , but I'm sure it's very nice ...............thank God you didn't choose Dynamic Blue :D..................or as known on Briskoda as pretty boy blue !

We nearly had a Superb in mystery blue, if my wife had had her way. Ithought it tended to look like grey under certain lighting conditions, and I mean the old primer grey.

But anyway, well done on your choice of upmarket car, you will find it better than slumming it in a vRS ;)

Cheers

Or how about that really fetching Ocean Green on the Octavia ? (That is the yuk one isn't it?)

- Nearly went to look at one by mistake once

Thanks Guys,

1. First off mods planned are to install carpet slippers in all foot wells - you thought the carpets were light in th RS at least its got black mats.

2. The drive is really smooth its really hard to hear the 5 speed auto box changing gear - a bit disconcerting. Tested Kick down that seemed to work:D

3. Mystery blue is metalic - it was the colour of the Elagance Superb shown at the last Birmingham motor show - we both liked it with the ivory leather interior. having seen most colour and seating combos at the factory we would have prefered the Sahara Beige with Ivory leather. Black looks great with the ivory interior - and Black as with the RS show the car off to its full potential - but would be the hardest to keep in top conditiion.

Mystery Blue being light swirl marks will probably be disguised like they are on silver cars - and will probably look clean when its really quite dirty.

4. Heres a pic I took at the dealers in poor lighting I will post proper pics when I have the car in my possesion.

The car acordng to the specs is about a foot longer than the Octavia and an inch wider so should fit in the garage OK the reversing sensors will come in handy I am sure.

Looks very nice m8. I notice the aerial appears to fold down flat with the window, mine doesnt do that just stays up but very wippy.

Once your out in it, just watch the look of Passat drivers faces when they see/pass you its priceless:D

Cheers

Have you tried unscrewing slightly and then folding down - thats how it folds down on the later Octavias.

John

Well I,ll be.......................................................................

Never knew that, but having said that and treied it I think I shall leaving it up and untouched.

Cheers

Andy

ps..thanks for that.

According to Skoda's website, this is Mystery Blue. Dynamic blue doesn't seem to be an option for the Superb listed on the website. However, Nightfire Blue looks awesome, like this:

Actually I think nearly all the colours look OK for the Superb, the worst though is silver as the car just dissappears in that colour looking like a torpedo.

I know you said you took it in low light but doesn't the pictures look like it is painted with the colour that is stone grey on the Octavia? I've enclosed a picture of a Stone grey Octavia for comparision, although the picture isn't the best quality because I deleted the good ones of the Octavia!
