Peoples disrespect of cars

Featured Replies

Just been over to the shops and seen a woman getting out of her car by banging her door in to the car next to it and she didnt even acknowledge anything! i would dread that happening to my car.

Ive had various runnings win people. Landscape gardeners strimming next to my car and flicking stones against it. Windowcleaners emptying their dirty water so it splashes my car etc.

I dont know if its just me that likes owning a ncie clean well maintained car but people need to start being respectful

I gotta agree, that some people dont treat cars with care, weather they put it through a auto car wash, and ruin their perfect paint, they park as close to the shops as possible but dont care if their doors get battered, mount kerbs just to get past someone who's parking on a 1 way st, loads of things make me sigh....

but when I have a go at my mum or dad, or anyone who doesn't give a toss who they park next to etc, they look at me like im a freak!

some people just don't understand and never will....

I don't know if this is also a factor that a lot of cars are either mobility, company, or joe bloggs who uses their car just like a washing machine....

I look after my things so it gets me angry when others don't appreciate what they've got and don't look after it....especially their cars!!!!

I feel sometimes we are the minority of the whole car caring society... :(

oh, and females who always put the hand bag on the roof or the bonnets..... WHY!!!!

 What a fool!!

Did you know her?! I'd never touch someone else's car!

no i didnt....just some randomer in a car park. It happens all the time with stuff like this.

I would have said the exact same thing, but AFTER I had throw`n her bag as far away as I could. :@

Just seems to be a general approach these days. One of the reasons I detest parking in carparks. Other people's stupidity, lack of parking ability, banging doors, handbags scratching down panels, zips from jackets - the list never seems to end :punch:

When it comes to driving and cars, the general public never seem to think about what they're doing anymore....

And when you do make an issue of it, you get complete surprise, a blank gormless look or an angry response - or a mixture of all three emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Yeah, bag would have been up-ended them dropped on the floor mate!

It's a symptom of modern society; there's no respect at all.

I put a complaint with the landscapers who do our offices....i found stones on my roof of my audi s4 adn chips on the arch. The final straw was when they started a lawnmover in front of my car without a bag on the back firing old grass so far in my engine bay the heaters stank of grass for weeks.

It was made worse by the fact the day before i spent 10 hours (sad i know) on a full detail of it.

I got an apologetic letter back and offered to valet my car. I just told him i was happy for the apology only and i clean my own car.

Yeah, bag would have been up-ended them dropped on the floor mate!

:thumbup::D

I hate MPV's, Breeding wagons, ditsy 4x4 drivers....the lot.... I'd have one but the people who drive them in the supermarket car parks, etc....

thats why parking as far away as possible, or the end space is always the best option :)

It just hurts when your hard earned cash is paying, or paid for your pride and joy, when other people couldn't care less.... :'(

I always try this but can guarantee that i'll have a 4x4 or MPV badly parked next to me when i get back to my car!!

I park miles away too but i alway get the banger parking next to me haha sods law i believe.

I was amazed the other day sitting in the car with the kids waiting for the missus to come out of Tesco.......

A woman came over to a car with a trolley, and let it hit the back bumper pretty hard. I thought to myself "If my missus ever did that I'd kill her!". She then took all the bags out, put them on the boot of said car. Now I'm thinking, "where the hell is she gonna put the shopping?!?!?!". Cue keys out of pocket, she then unlocks THE CAR NEXT TO IT, and opens her boot, puts the shopping away and leaves the trolley at the back of the other car and buggers off!!!!!! Astonishing!

Oh, and if you think people hate cars here, I was in Melboure, Aus for Xmas, and the amount of battered cars over there........Jeez!!! And I want to live there! :S

Think I'd have taken a picture of that, noted the reg of her car and left a note with the car she'd just vandalised!

Unbelievable. Well, actually it isn't - which is the sad part, it seems behaviour like that has become 'the norm'.

MAYBE...the motoring federation or what ever it is, should promote a campaign, you wouldn't do this to your kids face...so dont do it to other people cars!!!

I had a similar thing last year when a woman parked next to me in a car park she swung the car in to the space and actuall hit the bumper and front wheel of my car.

Then she just got out and walked towards the supermarket I was gobsmaked. I probably would not have known about it but for the fact I was sat in it at the time.

Without being sexist have you notices these are all stories about women?

Car care awareness courses should be implemented!!

I have read all these posts, and I have a little smile to myself, as I am a woman, and have just bought a new Octavia vRS CR 2.0 in Anthracite Grey, and I take pride in my car, I hate driving around in a dirty car, and I get very cross also, when other drivers don't have any respect for other peoples property. I'm sure they wouldn't like it if it was done to their cars. I am always very careful when exiting my vehicle and I would expect the same respect, but unfortunately in today's society that is never going to happen. So, guys there is one woman who does respect other vehicles! Oh, and I absolutely love my car to bits!

 I appreciate your care and love for your car!!! and it's great to know that some woman do look after their cars as much as we do, however it just upsets us when people in general suck at being careful around other peoples vehicles and property!!!

The wive's Vrs Passenger door was dingged the day we got it, about 3 weeks ago the same door was clouted and has another large dig at the top,one at the bottom, just above the sill and a long crease between them down to bare metal, who ever did it knew as they had because they rubbed the area to see the damage as the car was a bit dirty

Cost to repair £320 as it's a respray jobbie F*****G B******S,!!

Fortunateness not only related to cars but a general disrespect for other people and other peoples possessions I'm afraid.

I had a 6" long supermarket trolley scrape on the first day of ownership of a brand new car a few years back

Part of the problem is that carpark spaces get smaller and the average car size probably bigger - all down to the value of land and the wish to utilise the minimum for car park space.

SWIMBO takes the hump when I part at the empty end of the car park and make her walk, but hey ho!

SWIMBO takes the hump when I part at the empty end of the car park and make her walk, but hey ho!

Yep I do that also, it makes my blood boil though when you return someone has parked next to you and the rest of the car park is empty

..............and still can't park between the lines properly

My OH couldn't give a **** about other people's cars. Also likes to fling her door into the low wall on the drive...

So I've taken measures. I now park as far away as physically possible from shops (i don't mind walking) and I park outside the house, not on the drive.

Until respect for other people's property is learnt, she'll be walking further. I've got a few dings on my car and want them sorted, really winds me up when I see people doing it. I've left details before, always carry a ready stash of napkins and pens if I see it happen. I've never, ever hit someone else's door... I know how expensive bodywork is to repair!
