Rolling road day

Featured Replies

I would seriously visit John Clarksons. The fans they have there push silly air and they measure intake temps etc.

yea certainly worth a go....watching it back there is just no air going to my intake.....intercooler yes.....filter no! on everyone elses it was fine as they had small cars with an intake in the grille

Aye, they are very good & spent a lot of time twiddling my old Capri and it didnt cost the earth.

did the R5's have probs with wheel spin? There very pron to it as they have no power until about 3.5k then whooosh!a lot of fun!:)

Could they have reversed the cars in to get a colder air intake through the fans?

Eitherway, if your happy with how it runs why worry about figures

They sat the r5 on top of a single roller which I didn't k ow what for.....and strapped it down with 4 straps front and back. I believe it was meant to pull more though

oh on a side note too my friends clio 172 ran almost standard power on a standard engine.....if his result was right would mine be different? im gussing cos its N/A and smaller the fan gave it the right air and no spin...where as mine comes on boost aggressivly and intake it behind my head light

That's strange, since the RS Clios are almost always underpowered... which would mean the rolling road is over-reading if it was showing 170-ish bhp for the Clio... :(

With your spec, it should have 230-ish bhp. Maybe the aggressive boost spike it making it feel quicker, much like a diesel?

Well his 172 came out at 168bhp so lost a bit and it has an exhaust. The air intake is in the grille though unlike mine

Depending on who you believe, a lot of 172's hardly made over 150bhp...

160ish is about right for a 1*2.
