tuning boxes

Featured Replies

I've had an analog tuning box from TDI-Tuning and an digital tuning box from Dragon Performance on my PD100, both gave a noticeable difference in acceleration.

Going from the standard power (RR at CC Tuning @ 114bhp and 180lb/ft), the analog gave increases of 7bhp and 37lb/ft on Awesome GTi's RR and the dragon box (on setting 3, IIRC) gave increases of 9bhp and 35lb/ft on RS Tuning's RR.

Me personally would go for a remap (I've also had an EGR delete), mainly down to the increase of 34bhp and 55lb/ft.

Got the tuning box on setting 13 (11 is default) and pretty sure it's giving me more than an extra 9bhp.

If I floor it in 2nd/3rd the TCS light flashes as it did on my cheap/old tyres I had on before.

Either way I'm very impressed with it and it has given a big enough gain for me not to need to bother with a remap.

Glad you are happy with the box Phil.

BUT........if you had a remap, imagine the smile on your face when you press the loud pedal

The car put a smile on my as standard... with the tuning box I get a bigger smile. I see no reason to pay for a remap as the tuning box is giving the kind of gain I want. I don't care about having power after 4000rpm as I never take it over 3000rpm anyway... there's just no need to!
