Performance Exhaust Or Not

Featured Replies

Want to fit a powerflow pipe to my 2005 octy VRS had one on my golf VR6 and it was still on their 3 years later sounding sweet as a nut.

This is the only mod i can do to the car because of the warranty.

1, Is it worth doing will it sound better as the cat has to remain.

2, Does the original come off in one piece or can it taken apart into smaller pieces so i can get it home, after fitting the stainless.

Silly questions but i'd love some advice. CHEERS people.

my orginal had to cut in two when it was taken off....diffrent exhaust makes a great diffrence....the standard one is soooo restrictive.... you could always go for a sports cat but at approx

The standard exhaust has punch marks where it needs cutting and it can be refitted using a joining clamp available from the dealer.

The CAT is part of the downpipe so will need cutting out if you reuse the standard one. However if you do this you're unlikely to see very little if any performance gain. Also in my experience powerflow dealers cut up your original exhaust in order ro reuse the flanges instead of making new ones. I would advise you go for a turbo back sytem with high flow CAT from either Milltek or Blueflame.

I had a Powerflow cat-back exhaust made up after I got the car and it was fantasic. It looked EXACTLY how I wanted it and i never had any problems with it at all. I had a mega-loud one made with no center box and a teeny-weeny silencer :D
