Have posted previously about problem with screenwash bottle and how good dealer in fixing. Now not happy, the weekend saw the second visit in two weeks to fix. On the way home from work yesterday the washer was empty, bit unhappy thinking dealer didn't refill it. This morning filled it up. Sat at my desk and someone came to me and asked if mine was the white Skoda? Immediate dread someone's driven in to it, but no, green liquid (halfords finest screen wash) is pouring out all over the car park. Spoke to dealer taking it in Thursday to get another car while they fix it, third time lucky!?

It's an aside, but use the VAG screenwash - it's cheap and works brilliantly, and the only thing recommended by VAG for their fan jets. Used neat it's suitable down to very low temperatures too.

If you mix two types of screen wash it clogs and the washers pop off - no cover on warranty then :) They know the colour too...

Never heard that one before, anyway only ever use the same type. The problem is it has leaked out before I get chance to use it. My guess is that when they replace the seal that was perished on the pipe connecting to the bottle it wasn't connected correctly?

Just been looking in the handbook, only a recommendation to use the Skoda wash, (I have no preferences really so happy to use it) but no mention of different types of screen wash...(also never had a problem with fan type jets on previous cars)

The filling level of the container is about 3.5 litres and about 5.4 litres on vehicles

which have a headlight washing system.

Clear water is not sufficient to intensively clean the windscreen and headlights.

We therefore recommend using clean washing water together with the screen

cleaner from ŠKODA Original Accessories (in winter additionally with antifreeze)

which is capable of removing stubborn dirt. Follow the instructions for use on the

packaging when using screen cleaning products.

You should always add antifreeze to the cleaning water in winter even if your vehicle

is fitted with heated windscreen washer nozzles.

It is also possible in exceptional cases to use methylated spirits when no screen

cleaner with antifreeze is available. The concentration of methylated spirits must

not be more than 15 %.

I'm sure I've read a Skoda Technical Bulletin about Screen-wash (posted for the Mk1), however I can't seem to find it. Also Fabia-vrs.com seams to be down at the moment.

I think it stated that blocked fan-jets will only be replaced if Skoda/VAG screenwash is used and to the right concentration. I can't remember if it mentioned about repairs to pipes.

Good point Jim, but I don't have a problem with the jets or getting liquid through the pump, but can't keep it on the bottle!

It's not a complicated setup so hopefully dealer can fix tomorrow
