Octy II Engine Judder When Idle

Featured Replies

Hi Skoda experts - advice please.

I have a 2006 Octavia MkII 2.0TDI PD, with 50k on the clock. When I sit idle, with the clutch dis-engaged, I am getting quite a bit of engine judder. As soon as I move into gear and engage the clutch the judder stops, and when driving the judder never appears.

A quick look around this forum seems to point to the EGR valve or the DMF, but people with these faults appear to experience judder under load, or at speed. I never get this judder when driving - only when sitting idle, e.g. when I'm waiting at traffic lights.

Any suggestions would be most welcome :-)

Thanks in advance.

Is it idling at the correct RPM? Too low, and it will get the shakes.

my money is on a faulty / worn injector - had this loads with my range rover over a period of a couple of years

I would say DMF (dual mass flywheel) .

I would say the mother-in-laws foot tapping on the floor due to the fact you will never make her happy, and she don't like your driving lol.

Agreed

Id agree with that. just out of interest though if you rest your foot on the clutch pedal at idle can you feel ait pulseing / vibrating at all?

Mine does this with a SMF conversion now.

To the OP i think its a DMF issue also unless you mean its lumpy or spluttering on idle?

Thanks to all of you for your replies. The idling RPM is about 850. It does almost feel as though it's just about to start stalling - can this idling RPM be increased I wonder?
