Got a VRS estate as a response car in suffolk & haven't heard a bad word against it unlike the mondeos. just a shame the lead time is so long otherwise im sure we would have some more

Not quite sure what's wrong with simply 'London Air Ambulance' anyway? By way of comparison, here we don't have Greater Manchester's Police....

Unfortunately not. They are supplied direct from Skoda but we undertake the service work etc.

Just awaiting a plate transfer, hence the reason for it being inside.

They are fantastic cars. Bearing in mind these get driven very hard the only time we really see them back is for service or tyres, quite a few sets of tyres.

Any reason for the Race Blue paintwork, did they get a choice? The battenbergs don't really stand out very well, would they not stand out better on a silver one?

It seems to be the prefered choice. All their current Octavias are Race Blue. Better re-sale value maybe?

The crew are also trained to respond to traditional emergencies, so if the aircraft is grounded (night, fog etc.) they aren't sat around with their feet up when they can be out helping other ground crews...

HEMS doesn't fly in london at night, so I believe the car is used instead.

Did you not know that the vRS can fly?

When the throttle is maxed there is a little button under the accelerator, hit this and prepare to head skywards
