*Auto window open/closure....?*

I hold the unlock button down and all windows drop... Yay!

I hold the lock button and only the drivers window goes up... WTF?

How do I change this?

All of them should go back up again.

Not sure it's controllable which windows go back up when lock is continually held on the remote. Don't think I've ever seen that option within VCDS but then I'd need to double-check on a FL revision car to be sure.

Try this.

Open car with remote and press( keep pressed) drivers window button to lower window and yes without key in ignition.

If they lowered then press(keep pressed) the button to raise the windows.

This seems to have rectified it... Now all windows go down on opening, and shut on closing... I haven't tried it with the sunroof yet.

However... How do I get the running lights to stay on as 'coming home' lights after the key has been taken out? Is this a maxidot thing that I don't have?

Running lights?

Default for CH/LH lighting is the dipped beam. On the FL it is configurable to use the foglights for this feature, but would require VCDS coding alteration for this to work.

On an FL this is all academic though, if you don't have auto lights and the rain/light sensor. CH/LH can't be set without this.

I thought CH could be coded, but it's an 'always on' feature, so it'll light up even in the middle of a summer's day.

That's the case for a pre-FL, certainly.

But with the controller changes for the FL extra 'intelligence' seems to have been added, so the feature will no only work if you have the rain/light sensor fitted. There are a few threads about it on here.

I actually asked the dealer if this could be disabled, but appears not.

Reason being, I find my current car often unlocks, or gets boot popped, as the keys stay in my pocket and suffer from getting "pressed" during the day.

As my drive runs next to my house its well withinin range.

I know this means one day I am going to open the windows when its raining !

You would have thought it could have been made optional, or at least the keyfob buttons made so they are less prone to accidental pressing :wonder:

Would be interesting if there was Mike. I sent some scans to Ross-Tech as I'd really like this to work for pre-FLs, so I don't wear the ballasts out. But no luck so far.

But if that's the case I'll re-enable CH on mine :)

u can turn off (via maxidot) the window open/close feature with the remote.

Settings -> Convenience -> Window Op -> Off

if u have "Rain Closing" turned on, it will automatically close the windows if it starts raining, regardless of what setting is set for "window op"

Settings -> Convenience -> Rain Closing = on

obviously u need a rain sensor to have this feature.

CH using fogs would be great. Have you heard back Steve?

My dealer set it so it needs a 5 sec press to open the windows. Was no big problem to do apparently and should eliminate an accidental key fob press unless you actually sit on the key.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a problem with my rear passenger window on my vRs, it works but in reverse of the switch...i.e, press switch down and window goes up, etc, all other Windows are working fine.

This only started about 4 weeks ago when my vRs had 3 flat batterys in 2 days, it was off the road for 3 weeks while we traced the fault as it wasn't the obvious ones....

Was eventually found that the fault was water leaking into the fusebox ( apparently quite a common fault within the VAG group ) and shorting the cooling fan which was coming on ' when it felt like it ' and flattening the battery.

The fuse box was all cleaned and dryed out and everything seems to be ok.

The window works and that's the main thing, just wondered what has caused it to work in reverse fashion !
