Black MK2 VRs

Just as a slight word of warning.

I think black looks great, I really do. I owned a pre-facelift vRS in black and I honestly thought it looked nicer than a lot of the other colours available.

Black can really fail on some vehicles, it doesn't on the vRS.

Now to the word or warning - to keep the car looking good you need to keep it clean. To keep the Black Magic car clean you need to stop approx. every 10 miles and wash it!

The black attracts dirt like no other colour I know. I'd wash it, it would look amazing. Two days later it would be dirty once more and it simply wouldn't look as good.

The white doesn't seem to suffer this. My new facelift vRS is in Anthrecite and that too still looks "OK" when dirty.

So jjust remember...you will see some pictures of the black facelift looking amazing....it doesn't always look so amazing, once it's got a little dirt on :)

Second the above - I got properly ****ed off cleaning mine but thankfully some knob in a VM Caddy killed it on the A27 last July enabling me to change to a more sensible colour!

Seriously the paint shows up every single tiny mark as well so get some practice in with a touch - up kit!

Here's a couple...

I love my Black vRS, when clean it is easily the best colour, but when dirty it looks carp. It doesn't get that dirty, that quickly though, but ould I buy another one in black.........possibly not! :|

What rubbers are those ? Look freaking amazing

What others have said really, black shows this winter roady salt like no other, in the summer dust and pollen show up easily too, stone chips are also very obvious, as are swirls if you don't intend o wash carefully.

White obviously shows dirt too, but looks cleaner for longer, especially this time of year, stone chips are not as obvious on white or silver, they do however show tar spots, but a quick wipe down with tar spot remover n they are gone.

My last mkII was black. They look great once cleaned / polished etc but you need to do this every weekend if you want it to stay looking great. Even 2 days after a good polish, dust will settle and take the shine away.

An absolute sod to keep a black one clean..

But an Anthracite one shines up nicely and doesnt show the dirt half as much

Heres mine:

Now this really is a $od to keep clean - but I knew that when I bought it :rofl:

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o WOW !

I still think Todd's is the nicest vRS estate I've ever seen. Not normally into estate cars unless it's a RS4 but that is awesome.

Please disregard my earlier comment, after seeing arguably the best looking black vRS estate ever, and I stress EVER, I think I have changed my mind......:giggle:

Rob, do you know what wheels they are?

i've met todd & seen this car in person. its looks the biz!!

todd has done a good job on his vrs.

wheels = black 18x8 Rays VR G2's

tyres = Nitto NT05 235/40

lowering = KW V3's coilovers

there r a few more pics of todd's vrs on the superskoda site

I have a black vrs, the more I see the white vRS the more I like them so my next vRS will be white or if I'm brave enough, yellow !

Thanks for that, I'm going to back track a bit now after seeing the other pictures. The first picture in the post is awesome, perfect angle etc, but in the others, it does look amazing but certainly not jawing dropping..... :doh:
