Standing quarter mile?

Featured Replies

She put in a good effort, I must say! I've only got 5k on mine and I know it hasn't loosened up much yet, maybe I'll run better times in 6 months or a year... :D would still like to see the vids though

Mines 'felt' like it does now since it was new....

Well, it out-accelerated mine down the quarter!!! And apparently it's averaging about 15mpg better than I'm getting! So I'm thinking my engine must still be pretty tight...

I've not managed to get below 40mpg (indicated) yet and I've had it since last July.... (and I HAVE tried ;)) most i've had is 64 on a run... usually average 50-odd.

I'm very proud of her!

I got Service' date='Maintenance & Tyres with My Fabia, so the Tyres are all inclusive, and get changed by Skoda as and When... ;)

She was pleased to meet all you guys... she had a great day... and we managed to get her '65 VW Samba running on it's new engine today while she was out playing too!

If anyone got any pics / vids of my car I'd love to see them....[/quote']

Your'll have to let us know how she did with her van, she was very happy about gettin it fixed!

I think kim got a small film of yours and JUT's car going off together but I'm not sure how well it came out

Really need to get my start up to scratch, and get some more power, maybe some NOS!! ;) Best bit of the day was whupping the Corrado G60 so badhe want didn't talk to me after!!! :finger: Not sure how the times actually are calculated, fastest time of the day for me was actually the slowest terminal speed!!!![/quote']

look at the reaction time, you may find on that run you had an amzing start,

That time from the fabia was very good, has that been remapped?

i feel i coudl definatly get a better time but all my reaction times were around .7 to .8 of a sec which is a life time...

Was intresting comparing a remapped octy to standard one....on the way i coudlnt keep up but on the strip didnt get totaly blown away... i was expecting it to be sevral car lengths when it was only about 1 car length... but as Adam said his remap has given him more torque higher up the range.

Joel

PS sorry i dont have the facility to get the VID from the camera to my pc to email it..

Will do... she should be racing at Big Bang this coming weekend (Santa Pod)...

It's all ready for an MOT, just gotta get it through, and get the tax disc sorted.

if there's any footage or pictures at all that'd be cool!

Did anyone see a black fabia go halfway up and blow a clutch !?!? That was my chum who turned down the Croft track day saying Santa Pod is less grief on the car - lol.

didn't see that but Justin told me about it, only had a few thousand miles on it did it not? I'd like to know how it killed it so quickly, as it was a standard furby?

it is revo'd with cupra intake and green filter. He is aggressive with the gears anyway and i assupe slipping on the handbrake waiting for the lights to go boiled it up then he went like stink not lifting between changes and that was that - lots of smoke - no clutch.

it is a 05 model with 3000 mile's.

:P

So far my possible excuses are:

Weight penalty (sunroof, stereo install, my @rse and belly, etc etc etc)

Car not loosened up cos it's new

ASR left on for my most abysmal run (17.5 seconds compared to 16.69 best)

The sun blinded me

I can't drive

I lack natural ability at this lark

That's me on the nearside in my SX last October

Jut, don't worry about the times because it was obvoius that the timing machine wasn't working properly.........thats the excuse i'm using...plus the baby seat in my car weighs 14 stone aswell.......and we had a head wind!!
