i will never ever own a vauxhall with the exemption of the manaro which isnt really a vauxhall!

My sister has one

Nice car TBH and quite quick

On par with the vRS Fabia but better looking

VRS is faster ; )

Always interested in the competition but not a car for me...

VRS is faster ; )

as proved by evo magazine  also beat the mini cooper works and clio 200 in a straight line!

Link please Dave ?

Best hot hatch has still got to be the mini cooper GP! Love them so much and went on a track day in one a few years back...

as proved by evo magazine  also beat the mini cooper works and clio 200 in a straight line!

an by myself on 2 previous occasions one including a artic vxr which supposedly has "209" bhp(pile of p**h).

also faster than a 1.6 sri with a vxr turbo and remap making a proven 182bhp : ) and also a teg type R :giggle:

although as soon as theres a corner involved the VRS is punted aside.

VXRs are mainly for kiddies with rich daddys....or at least the majority of the owners i know are and i had a look on their forum once and its all 19 year olds that cant spell thinking a dump valve adds 500000000000000bhp

Nurburgring edition is supposed to be quicker ala Top Gear last night :)

202 bhp?

0-60 in 6.5 secs

All copying Ford and Skoda with the Rallye Green look :D

The Fabia never proved this, it was the lighter Polo GTI that was used in the test.

Also it was the 190ps std VXR. The 'Berg edition VXR has the extra 10hp, improved chassis, less weight and LSD. Put simply the fabia would get its pants pulled well and truly down on a track.

For instance the Fabia is 2-3 seconds a lap slower than the Polo GTI around track (prob combo of skinnier tires, 50kg heavier and softer suspension/older chassis) And the Clio Rs and 'berg VXR would smash the Polo GTI on track as well.

Thats std vs standard. Modded vs modded it would be a different story i think.

did say it was great on a track but c--p on the road so all day driving, vrs would be best.

^^ Depends how you are judging them. As an all rounder then yeah the vRS might edge it, but as a A-B thrashable car, it still isnt good enough

Does the VXR missfire better than the vRS too?

I like the Corsa VXR, I'd have one

Reckon straight line speed would be a diffrent story aswell if they all had DSG

When i was looking in to sending fabia back i was looking at the nurburgring vxr but decided to keep fabia. A mate of mine has got the nurburgring vxr in white and we had a nice play the other day and it was quicker than mine however if its true that fabia stands at 178bho and there 202bhp there didnt seem to be that much dofferent and to be fair they are quite pretty but top gear said it all last night haha

Still haven't solved that Piston 4 issue though have they? ;)

Misfire > Injector overload and piston failure

Drove a Corsa VXR before I bought the vRS and didn't like it. Too chavtastic for me and not that fast.

Tbh I couldn't care less what car would beat another car on a track because it's irrelevant in the real world. I can safely say I'm not going to track my vRS any time soon. I do want a track day car but I'll buy a car for the purpose.

The chavtastic thing annoyed me as well. My other option over the VRS was a Corsa VXR Racing Edition with a heap of extras for 14k on the nose. Pity about the £2.5k insurance quotes on top of that and the extra running costs too.

When i was looking to buy my polo gti1.8t i went to a ford garage to look at an st was promptly handed the keys and told to thrash it.

Again with the vw garage they gave me the car for a day

With the vauxhall garage i was told to pay a £200 pound deposit before i could deive it and it was near enough unrefundable. So i said f**k that and bought the vw

The vauxhall dealer was an arse throughout the visit also

That's my main issue with TG, every car seems to be judged on how fast it can be thrashed around a track or if it can be driven across Europe in a race against something random.

Anyone remember when some old fella with a beard and a nice sweater used to actually tell you something useful about the car? It might not be as 'entertaining' but at least it was informative.

Im the same, the only reason i bought the Fabia vRS over the 300hp+ cars i was looking at was i knew the last year and the next i would be doing very minimal driving due to work commitments, so paying £400+ tax, high insurance and servicing for minimal mileage just didnt make sense.

The salesman was horrified by me after my test drive, i think i slated everything about the car from performance, braking and handling through to noise etc etc. Dont think he could believe me when i bought one. (Had it been £17k i wouldnt have though)

The plan was to sell it after 18 months and get some much faster out of the box

As it happens i really like my little furby now. Once it gets to 3 years old, im very tempted to cage it and make it a pure track toy

There's a vid in the TG thread of Chris Goffey reviewing the Nissan Sunny. A boring car but he told you all you needed to know about it

where is this forum going :'( :'(

We've got guys wanting rally car body kits, green alloys/roof, luminous interiors......

Im waiting for the ive fitted 18gauges on my windscreen to monitor the curvature of the earth and location of the moon....

I see the future of the Fabia II section
