I want to lower my octy vrs but only subtly and dont want the ride of coilovers

So please post pics of what suspension your running.... Springs / springs and shocks / type / and drop.... Thanks

weitecs run nice bud, especially if you don't drop them too low.

koni fsd and h&r -20mm

man i love black ones and those anthracite wheels :o

any more for any more?

yeah i know i've had weitecs on my old mk4 golf, but i really cant be jiggered messing around getting them level, its a pain in the teeth, just want something that looks subtle but oem+ and that will ride pretty much stock as i was mega impressed how the standard octy just glides along the road in comfort

mine on 40mm drop

arch gap made me cry though...so coils were the only way to go

Agrees arch gap looks big with 18's and skinny tires, but imo looks good on stock wheels

Weitec's on my Golf VR6 and they were really crashy!

i like the way with octys you can have no arch gap but still have quite a gap under the car. unlike my bora that was slammed and had about 1" sump clearance!

Arch gap sucks imo but if your happy to just lower it a bit then springs and shocks will work well for you and be pretty comfortable to boot and gee man i guess it depends on which engine is fitted i suppose cos the chassis on the octy and bora are the same but I've raised the engine in mine and I find it's the subframe which is more of a problem as mine takes a beating daily lol

we saying my vrs with 20mm drop will look poo on 18's

Each to there own i suppose but most people on here will like a 20 mm drop on 18's but it's personal preference cos I don't like arch gap but then others will say my car isn't practical at the height it is so if you like it then go for it as its your car and if your happy it's all good

I like subtle on stock 17's but i think it looks silly on 18's with skinny tires, bigger wheels always seem to suit a bigger drop imo

Stock wheels seem to suit a subtle drop better thats my preference though

hmmmmmmm i ran 195/40/16's on th mono 8x16 alloys et 25 and 15 on fk konigsports with full drive shaft rubbing drop on the front nose down 105mm i think style and 80mm rear on my mk3 gti anniversary lol front splitter catching cats eyes on motorway over takes looked great but nightmare in car parks so like it dropped but hate it not been useful which is why i got vrs, would you leave it stock rims but cupra splitter?????????????? :) lowered 20mm as said

Yeah i would add an lcr lip once lowered 20mm or so...

To me i think lcr splitter would look silly on stock suspension... Kinda like you couldnt be bothered to lower it but just added a front splitter in a half arsed attempted to make it look lower.... Just my opinion though.

I dont know if i want an lcr splitter as their kinda the new laguna splitter... And that cant be a good thing as i had one of them on my corsa when i was 17 :o

20mm looks perfect!

H&r springs??

nice looking motors :)

cant wait to get my VRS now, i like the sutble look of a 20mm drop on standard 17's in a grey/anthracite colour, with LCR splitter and black grille, love the look on a black or silver octy :D

might be worth mentioning my one is running 225/45/17

20mm looks perfect!

H&r springs??

Yep ! Sorry meant to add that.

H&R, with Koni FSD's was the perfect combo.

Although i had S3 upper/lower braces too which helped, but next step would've been trying a rear ARB too.
