There is a high possibility I may be going French (I know, I know...), Had a go in a Megane 225 Cup and really liked it; had plenty of go at the right foot, and was happy as anything in 5th at 30, so economy might not be that bad; and they sound pretty epic.

Been offered £3k for the fabia on trade-in, which, while not as much as i'd want from a private sale, probably isn't that bad all things considered; 80k 54 plate with the usual signs of an eight-year-old car (unless anyone wants to offer £3.5 fairly sharpish...).

Sorry Jase, I do like the t-sports, but they need to be screaming to get the best out of them and I want something a bit more of an easy drive, I’ve got the Fiesta for a limiter hitting noise-fest, plus parts are pretty much impossible to come by easily – a friend just killed the clutch in his and its not been the easiest journey getting it sorted.

Clutch in the tsport?

Fidanza flywheel and helix clutch thats what i did! Fairly helped it out too....

I know people slate vtec and vvtli etc but out of there race cam their fine....

Yeah, the thrust bearing has pulled itself to bits, he's going for brand new clutch while the box is out; might as well...

Off lift/vtec they are probably only slightly less torquey than any 1.8/2.0 NA petrol give or take, but you've always got that thought at the back of your mind that you need to be at 7.5k revs, plus I do a lot of motorways and prefer boost for over-taking purposes.

500 Abarths do have a good sound-track, and you can get off-the-shelf tuning packages to take them over 200 brake; which would be hilarious, but they are rather pricey for what they are, and perhaps ever-so-slightly feminine...

If he has the coin the fidanza flywheel and a helix clutch is an awesome combo!!

Gear changes were soo much quicker... Also i would say with improved transmission loses i gained between 5 and 10bhp

The difference is hard to explain but it really was night and day

Oh and all you need to do is drop the cog.... Saying that thats what bent my flywheel... Didnt like 6th to 3rd at 70mph :o

I changed my Fabia for a '57' Golf GTI Edition 30 in november. Best thing ive ever done :-) its so effortless its unreal. I managed to find a really high spec one aswell. I chose an Ed30 over a standard GTI as you dont see them about. Ive not seen another one since owning mine. It even does 40mpg when driven carefully and with a map will see near enough 300bhp. Cant complain :-) such a good looking car aswell.

Sold the MK1 vRS for a MK2 vRS :)

+1

Me too

Gaz love the Edition 30 Golf GTI, agreed lovely looking motor, and sexy as funk wheels as standard and cracking colour and also rare.

The black fab in the background just looks so mean! Lol

The black vrs in the background is the mrs' transport, it not very popular at the moment, blew its turbo last week :-(

would you not consider an ep3 type r civic? i have been looking at these a lot the last month or so, and seriously considering the change :)

Yeah i like the GOLF GTI ED30. Funny enough my mate got one in black. Had it remaped with filter and custom exhaust and running around 300bhp. Thing is crazy, so loud and moves like a rocket! fabia stands no chance at all, mines mapped and the golf makes my car look like its standing still. Do love the DSG gearbox

I'd have a tsport compressor over an ep3 type r any day of the week, so no.The other problem is they are rather pricey for what you get and a lot of them are packing mega-miles if they are reasonably priced.

I went from my Fabia vRS, to a 2003 Audi A4 1.9TDi Quattro Sport Avant. Then a Mk4 Golf (so the Mrs could buy a Bora TDi.

Now looking for a vRS again though, (as well as doing up a Classic Mini with an Elise engine).

Very nice :) all the best with her :)

Sorry but you're all mad  with your Renaults and the like....

I'll still stick with the vRS for now I think....wouldn't get out of bed for anything less :giggle:

Very nice, enjoy. My Fabia is staying for a while, just had two tyres, and tomorrow a service, bushes and gearbox oil. Needs to earn its keep now!

Sold mine and bought an Icelle blue Evo 6
