My car has been replaced

Featured Replies

Well my car is now at APR UK/VWRacing in Milton Keynes.

LOBA LO270 Turbo being fitted. Manifold being heat wrapped.

Dimensions and weights etc for custom AST Adjustable coilovers are being taken

Dimensions and other details taken for a 330mm two piece 4 pot brake setup.

Ive now got APR UK's courtesy car.

380hp of AWD 2.0TFSI Golf R and it is $%^&^%$ amazing.

We have a Racelogic Performance Box and me and TFSI_Mike and another just tried a 0-60 run with launch control from a layby, with slight wheel lock to get out, on a slight incline, in cold weather.

The result 0-60= 4.1 Seconds!!!!!!

I am stunned, this car is absolutely mental. That 0-60 time was done with full interior and 3 people. Imagine a stripped interior and just the driver. Easily a sub 4 second sprint in this car! :o

Ive told him he can keep the Fabia lol.

That is one immense car! Love these and the Scirocco R. Bet you'll go through some fuel in that, and not just coz it drinks it, but because you won't be out of it haha.

Even after all the work with the vRS you'll be gutted. Bet your on auto trader looking at the Golf R's now

Lol

I always said theres no way id get a Golf R. Im well and truly converted.

Even if my Fabia returns the alleged 270Hp, its going to feel slow after this lol

Sounds impressive.

Good fun those Vboxes, I got one this week and am still playing with it. :)

Considering the conditions I'd say a sub 4 second time would be no problem on a decent day.

Couldn't get the GT-R much under 4 seconds tonight as it's struggling to find the grip.

it is pretty impressive.

The problem is the graphics are mega embarassing  Had tunnel vision for the whole journey up the M1. Far to much attention drawn with this car.

Looks like something brimma would do to his car :giggle:

Whats the deal with tony Blair lol

Sorry, I put 'cat that got the cream' in google images and that was one of the first that came up B)

Yes, it is a bit "in your face" isn't it.

Being a Golf-R which is relatively subtle it'd make a fantastic Q car!!!

Ever since the R came out, i always said, id never buy one, id have the Scirocco R instead, but id not choose the Rocco now. not used to having this much grip

Interestingly, that's exactly why I'd go for the Golf over the Scirocco. It's more subtle.

Out of interest, what are your 10mph time/speed increments over that 0-60mph from the Vbox?

No idea I just turned it on, waited for signal then did one run. Need to have a look into the bix to see how it works.

It'll get driven like miss daisy 99% of the time anyway

The only thing I don't like about the Vbox is that as standard it uses speed sensing mode, so it only starts recording when you go over 2 or 3mph. I guess that's because it's mainly a track tool.

You have to over-ride that by pressing the record button before you do an acceleration run and get all four green lights on, or it shaves time off the beginning of the run. Which becomes apparent when you load the graph up as it starts counting seconds at 2 or 3 mph.

Not teaching you to suck eggs, just mentioning it.

You can go into the scene editor on the software though and change the log details to continuous to stop that if you didn't over-ride it already.

Bet you are going to have a fun few days playing with the Vbox and car over the weekend... :D:thumbup:

So what is Stage 2+ on one of those? Always had a soft spot for the Golf R

Somewhere between 360-380hp I believe.

Loads of lag compared to the fabia though

Sorry I meant what tuning is involved?

Intake, high pressure fuel pump, intercooler, tbe stage 2+ remap

Trumps the courtesy car i got from my skoda dealer, while they fix my VRS. I got a 1.2 octavia, slow as **** lolz

All the best with the tuning - can't wait to see results

I test drove a Golf R and was mightily impressed. That one looks hideous though!!
