Leasing a VRS

Featured Replies

May have a change in career coming up soon, looking at possibly leasing a new car.

Always paid cash for my cars, don't do finance.

Would rather lease a car & get a new car every 3 year or so

Anyone know of any leasing companies out there?

Plenty of lease companies on T'internet - you'd probably pay less buying on finance rather than leasing and you'd then have the option to buy at the end of the term. leasing's great if you change your car regularly but over 3-4 years I'd go for the skoda finance/pcp option.

Just my opinion and I'm sure you'll enjoy it whatever route you take.

I think you'll find a pcp is more cost effective than a lease. I always used to buy cars outright from the offset but don't see the point in having massive amounts of equity tied up in a depreciating asset. I just treat it as a monthly expense and get a new car every two to three years.

The big question with leasing is whether you are or will be VAT registered?

If you are then it is all well and good as you can claim back the VAT, if not you are paying out around the same but getting no benefits, you will never have the chance to own it and is in a way dead money.

As mentioned you may find a PCP would be better if you are not VAT registered but do like to change your car every 3 or so years.

With either option Skoda Finance is very competitive both for PCPs' and leasing.

Good point above re leasing being dead money; at least with PCP you will have some equity in the car [even if you trade in early like I did] which serves as a deposit on the next one.

Lings cars off of Dragons Den gets good reviews.
