Rear washer problem

Featured Replies

When i push the wiper stalk away from me to get water to the rear it just gushes water all over the floor under the engine has a pipe popped off or something ??

It useually pops off a joint at the nearside right at the back and you just push it back on

Yes, common problem.

A search on here will reveal hundreds of topics about the same thing.

Pipe will probably be disconnected just before it goes in through the bulkhead.

Easy to sort. Pops back together again

Yeah mines done it twice, make sure when you push it back together you hear the click other wise it will be off the next time you use the washer

Two places for pipe to pop off -

1) NS near the ABS unit, under the bonnet

2) in the rear ,NS, just behind rear passenger seat.

From the description ,I'd say it's under the bonnet.Stick it back on .There was a cure mentioned on posts, with a clip . Pipe had come off on mine just after I got it (pre used) ,and I found that the wash bottle had only water . I've taken Skoda advice to only fil up with 50/50 mix and in five years it's never hapened again . ( But mine was put back on by friendly main dealer )

Many posts on here about the problem .

How is best to get to it ive just taken all my battery unit out all the way under the battery and couldnt find it :/

get someone press the stalk so you can look under bonnet and see the water coming out. its near the firewall on the right hand side (near air box )

I got my girlfriend to do that but couldnt see the water i could here it splashing on the floor but could see i was thinking it was down low :/

It's at the back of the engine compartment nexr the windscreen. Look at the rear wall of the engine compartment, about 1/3 of the way in from the passenger side edge and look for a pipe coming across the engine bay right to left with a 90 degree connector on it - it should connect to another pipe dissappearing into the rear wall of the engine compartment just below the silver engine control unit and about 18 inches down from bonnet level.

If it has not disconnected there and the water is coming out near the front passenger side wheel then it will have become disconnected at the pump which is behind the wheel arch liner (although I'd expect this to drip all the time and drain the washer tank...)

Ashby - the problem is on the firewall / bulkhead on the passenger side ,where the pipe goes from engine compartment to passenger compartment . It's just under the AVS unit ,very difficult to see ,unless you know where it is . There's a joint there .I couldn't see it ,but t's under the ABS unit.

IS this in the "you know you drive a Mk1 Fabia when.." section? Get this fixed as soon as you can, I left mine for too long and it fried some electrics, learnt the expensive way :wall:

It must be at the pump :/ im ****e with engines and all this grrrr is anyone local to the midland ??

I couldn't find the leak, but blokes at Broklyn Skoda ,sorted it in seconds. It's not easy to see where the conector is. If you can't see the connector ,might be worth a call to a Skoda dealer to see if they might do it FOC. But - in future ,fill up the washbottle with 50/50 - i use Asda, but any mix stops this problem . I see you're in treacletown, try popping down to Lister Skoda in Exhall ,and ask them if they'll help.I've found them very helpfull - they're always loking to get new customers . Only takes a tech a minute to put it back on , and then they've got a (hopefully) hapy customer. (till you see their rates) . For work, you might like to look at unit 18 - only 40/50 miles down the M6/M1 - and a lot cheaper .( say thanks ,Ali -another referral)
