Yeti Urban

From the pictures it looks like the side strip is chrome but the mirror caps are aluminium. I think I would either have matched that to the aluminium or left it as black plastic. Don't mind a bit of chrome as it can add a touch of class to the look but not sure of they way Skoda have applied it in this case.

  • Johann, you have too much time on your hands for all these pictures The unfortunate thing with the urban is that no other factory options can be added. Those Kia wheels do look pretty similar.

  • At the moment I would say no, but if I do get any further information I shall let you know. I would have thought that they will make them available, same as the digital radio, but can only guess at th

Finally a sporty looking model from SUK! With sport seats and Matterhorn wheels!!!!!!!! BUT stripes?!!?!? They will add stripes but not give us the option of alternative colour roofs?! Stripes look just about passable on a V8 American muscle car but on an SUV?! No thanks. Hopefully a delete option. Though in fairness they are pretty subtle. This Yeti from the 2010 Paris motor show has the stripes on the bonnet and you hardly notice them!

This is a picture of the Matterhorns (these pictures I took at the Geneva Motorshow in March 2011):

Ignore the black roof but this shows the silver mirrors and the "chrome sill mouldings":

A couple of quick pictures.

The dash trim is more of a darker grey, but doesn't look like imitation carbon fibre.

Look good! Thanks for the pics! The trim looks like the S/E trim?

Interesting; it's got the 3-spoke Sports multi function steering wheel.

It is the SE spec, with a few bits and bobs. Totally forgot about the 3 spoke wheel, good spot Bahnstormer

Thanks Lee. That dark grey dash trim looks to me as if it would fit much better in my Steel Grey than the "white" grey it has now. Any chance you could get the part numbers and cost? If I was to oder them from you to fit myself? Thanks.

Doesn't the Elegance have a Silver Brushed Aluminium trim?

Certainly though, having seen the Urban's trim, I'd agree that its trim will go well with Steel Grey; very similar overall colour and also looks a touch 'sporty'.

It is silver yes but aluminium I'd not call it in a million years. It is just silver coloured plastic! The trim Lee pictured has a blueness to it I like that will go well with the subtle blue tint you get with Steel Grey.

That looks pretty nice and I really like it in White. The interior trim does indeed look like it would suit our grey yetis pretty well and thank god it isn't fake carbon effect. I looked at a new octy vrs last week and they have royally cheapened that cabin up IMO by replacing the silver trim with 'carbon effect' plastic which in effect is a pattern of a load of little black triangles!

I thought it looks like the same plastic trim on the E and S. Haven't seen the grey trim on the E/S physically, mine was a bit of a mongrel and came with silver trim.

BUT if you just see it as a "nice pattern of a load of black squares" then I don't see anything wrong with it. It is a nice pattern. That it also happens to be the same pattern of woven carbon fibre is just a by and by in my view. But each to their own.

Ah! You might be right there! I forgot that there are in fact two silver trims and that the Elegance gets something different. So your trim is kinda blueish then My_Yeti?

No mine is silver - hence being a mongrel - but I am suspecting that the Urban might sport the same plastic trim as the E/S?

wot; not 'brushed' effect (subtle not in your face)? Mine has a 'brushed' finish to it.

I'll get some photos of the Urban's trim tomorrow.

:giggle: I guess there is some sort of fakery on it...

Looks very similar http://web.me.com/mj...und_fitted.html (Pic stolen from a member here - Hetty the Yeti).

Looks blueish to me so I think you might be correct My_Yeti. It is the base spec "solid" silver trim - without the "brushed" marks Bahnstormer is on about you get on the higher trim levels.

Just had another peak at the dash and it's not matt black but it doesn't look like the new Octavia vRS trim either, just somewhere in between.

Got some photos taken at the weekend to show;-

1. Elegance trim - brushed (slightly) aluminium silver finish;-

2. Urban trim - mid/dark grey carbon (houndstooth) finish;-

3. Close up of Urban trim to show detail of pattern;-

Personally, after all this I'm not convinced about the Urban's trim (for use on my Elegance at any rate) and think I might go and buy some of this;-

or maybe this, to blend with my Tangerine paint;-

Brilliant! Thanks for these. I like it a lot. That light blue shading is a near exact match for Steel Grey I'd wager.

As to the "wood" film: it is what I've been telling people to do for ages! That Škoda OE plastic wood is ghastly in how utterly fake it looks. Using something that at least has a real wood pattern to it will make it look ages better (even though it is still fake). This way you can also get a more black or dark wood to fit to a car with a black leather interior as the OE "wood" does not go well with an all black interior in my book.

I'm not sure about the 'blue' tinge you're thinking of, it was pretty grey looking to me, but certainly the urban trim ought to look OK with Steel Grey.

On the wood front, the film I've found is certainly not dark (like the OE Skoda trim), fairly bright and 'bold'; ought to complement my Tangerine metallic.

Well in the two pics above I'd definitely say the Urban trim looks blue next to the Elegance trim! :giggle: Blue grey if you must! hehehe

As to the film: I was not referring to the wood you picked. I was referring to the fact that there are loads of these films out there and people can choose whatever they like INSTEAD of just taking the ugly Škoda OE "wood" as a given...

Not too sure about the wheels, could and should put them in to production throughout the range. I shall keep you notified if these do become available though.

I find it really weird that You guys do not have so many options available. We have had those Matterhorns availabale as option already a year or so. And with ALL so called special models we have option to add additional extras.. for example xenons etc. Bicolour roofs are another You cant have? Brits are real fans Skoda and one of the biggest market (I think)... I wonder why You do not have all the options.
