Recaro seats

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some recaro seats to replace OEM vrs ones as they are a nightmare to keep clean and don't hold you in quite as well as I'd like through the twisty bits. Are any Recaros from the VAG group a direct replacement ? Your answers would be greatly received cheers.

Audi S3 and some Golf GTi/V5/V6 4Motion seats.

Get yourself a CG-Lock Pete, does the job at a tenth of the price of a set of Recaros!

MK4 R32 seats bolt straight in, look great but they are expensive.

Any of the MK4 Golf/Bora will fit straight in (front and rear)

+1; even if you then put a very slippery nylon cover on to protect the seat, a CG-Lock will keep you in place

However, vRS seats are still the cheapest made and most uncomfortable seat you'll find in an Octavia

To add to list of Golf/Bora/A3/S3 seats that fit, seats from Leon/Toledo also fit.

S3 & R32 stuff is very very expensive.

Personally I've found R32 stuff very uncomfortable, other have not - if possible try before you buy.

Anything electric will weight a ton.

You can pick up the Recaro Leather Mk4 Golf seats for fairly reasonable prices. Nice seats, big bolsters and most of them are heated too! :)

Right now theres some s3 seats on ebay... £550 half leather with white alcantara! Would look immense in a vrs.... Only need a wet vac and they'd look tremendous!!

Yeah I'm watching those on fleebay but now I'm steering towards a seat surgeons re-trim and a cg lock.

Got the same slippy seat problem in mine but my mates offered me a slightly different solution :)

If he ever gets back to me with a price that is!

s3 seats are not very very expensive as stated (unlike r32 ones).

£550 is at the top end of what you can pay, these often go for around £350 in black, and are a far better seat than any of the other vag offering. I guess a retrim to the vrs seat would be more than that, and you would still have the standard seat which isnt a patch on the s3 recaro seat in terms of comfort or support. And they dont weigh much more.

Would audi tt front seats fit an octy?

no they wont, not without modification, the rails fit to the floor instead unlike the octy arm and front mount setup.

Plus the rears wouldnt match anyway.

I looked at a lot of options and by far the most comfortable IMO are the Bora/Golf post 02 ones. They have lumbar adjustment etc nice deep bolsters and are available cloth (mine were from a GT TDi) or Leather (usually from a Bora)

edit:

Like this one, the bolster has a square front to it rather than rounded

hmmm  R32 seats them retrim the lot in a leather version of the octy interior  thats what id like

oem upgraded :giggle:

my plan precisly lol.

The nicest seats Ive sat in, the std vRS seats pinched.

I tend to sit with my head not relaxed in R32 seats. Not enough support there for my driving position. Gives me backache. S3 seats work best for me. ;)

my plan precisly lol.

i wonder if theres enough grey mesh on the genuine octy seats to do the middle of the r32 seats :wonder: that could be neat

hmmmmmmm..... yet more money i need............ and a upholster-er lol

WOW !!!! theres a few sets on ebay bud

between 1200 -1400 :'( no retrimmed R32 seats for me then  booo

goodluck bud

as demonufo said, r32 dont offer half the support (or function) than the s3 recaros do, and cost 3 times as much!!!

they dont give enough shoulder or head support and weigh a lot considering they are not electric

so glad I got mine when I did lol........................... £1200 is wey over the top.

They are heavy which is a prob, it must be down to the airbags? Ill be having them removed when they get recovered.

Must admit the head part could be better! thing Ive noticed tho is they hold you in better, they seem to slop back more on the base so your weight is what slides your bum back if that makes sence. they seem made more to hold you in for playing around but the S3 ones seem to be more a cruiser seat? Hope that makes some sence?

Just got up lol so so not all there just yet.

Got a decent set of black s3 seats here id part with for the right money!

My friend ross has the gti recaros in his polo and my god! are they uncomfortable! Yeah they hold better, but since I am not Colin mcrae, day to day they're very uncomfortable! BTW, he got them for £55 down at the local breakers.

Another friend of mine had a bride seat (just 1) and that was REALLY uncomfortable!

The more and more I think about it I'm really swaying towards a seat surgeons retrim and a cg lock.
