rear washer jet

Featured Replies

Hey guys/girls just a quick question my rear washer jet isnt spraying iv found a slipt connector to the back of the motor i have fixed that the water comes out when not connected to the jet but when connected nothing. iv been on the phone to skoda they told me i need a new motor so i was wondering if anyone has a easy fix as a new motor costs £107

i had the same issue.. All I did was get a can of good old compressed air and give the hole where the jet is a quick blast and it cleared the blockage. If the water is coming out when not connected normally points to a blockage.

OH little tip don't use to much air or you end up hunting for the place the cable has came off again :)

Thanks kevin i have had my compresser on and still it remains will try the can though :-)

Jet just pulls out with pliers and replacement jet is about £6.

Make sure it's pointing the right way and simply push the new one in.

I had to replace mine after destroying the original with a wiper puller. :(

Bloke i spoke to never said about a replacment jet just a repair kit thats £50 and the motor ill ring them tomorrow and find out thanks

Nip out and whip the jet out, And see if it'll squirt water!

If your boot floods you'll need a repair kit!

To take it out do i need to remove the arm nut or will it just pull out thanks

There will be a "repair kit" that is not a new motor assembly, just new inner and outer shafts, body gasket, grease, grease, nozzle, screws - it only costs £15 or so, but your dealer should be able to order in a nozzle if that is all you need, and typically a lot cheaper than you can buy one off ebay I've tended to find!

Just pull it out noting what way it's pointing in rest position first.

They are pretty small and fragile so a bit of care is needed.

I got mine from the main dealer. Took 3 days to come in.

Pulled the jet out its that thats blocked anyone got a easy way to unblock tride the comprrssed air not do it.

This is the repair kit that has been mentioned above: http://www.briskoda....s-with-the-arm/

The thread is from 2009, so I'd imagine the price has changed since then. Before you buy it I'd make sure the other 3 pipe connections are not split/leaking (see This Post).

Pull a bristle off a wire brush and poke the jet through with it.

I checked and replaced 2 broken connector and ill try the wire thanks for replys so gratefull :-)

Do your front washers work?

Yeh all working rear was bloked but my pipe under bonnet had come off and the join under the bootlid trim had split so replaced the pipe :-) thanks again everyone

p.s. sorted it all or less then £2 but dont tell anyone :p

How do you find the join under the bootlid trim? I don't quite understand. I pulled the rubber boot which goes from the lid to the chassis but the hose looked ok there.

When you run the rear wiper, the fluid comes out of the drain holes in the passenger side sill at the back!

Thanks, Dave.

Old trick for unblocking washer jets was fuse wire , or as I always have some about, a strand from a Telephone cable (stripped of course).

Found a link on another rear washer request post

hi dave i mean the connetor on the back of the motor its self had split so i cut it off and used some rubber waser pipe to reconnect it but all works fine now.

Its ok, I found the connector had popped apart under the rear door trim, its back together and working fine.

Oddly, all 3 connectors had popped, under the trim, at the bulkhead AND at the pump. Madness!

Dave.

No -not madness. There was a SKODA mention that using NEAT water in the system caused this. When I got mine, it had bulkhed connector off, and I'd noticed that the fluid was neat water. Ppe put bak on by dealer at 15k. I only use 50/50 mix, and 50k later, no more problems.

I always favour a strong mixture too.

My hoses have been fine for 3 winters.
