Charcoal Canister Delete mod

Featured Replies

Jaysus, methinks 6yrs and 5months might be close on the thread revival record :D

I liked that last post in 2012 on the Hydrocarbons. I know the subject is petrol here.

But to think just what VW Group were up to with Defeat Devices and cheating testing of emissions it made me smile.

Jesus, if you're going to get that upset you should probably by a nissan leaf and move forums (which after 6yrs could well of happened)

Obviously has no idea how many of us are running with no cats

I'm quite glad this has popped up, I'd like to delete as much unnecessary rubbish out of my engine as possible

I run stage 2 map at the moment, setup on a dyno making 260bhp and 280 ib/ft torque.  Just to set this straight.  We tried removing various emissions controls equipment including the charcoal/evap canister, there were no gains.  The only area that offered performance gains were removal of the factory catalytic converter.  Removing the charcoal canister is a complete waste of your time, but if you like wasting time then fine.  Repair it if its leaking, leave it to do it's job if it's working fine.  VW/Audi group do not spend money adding things to an engine if they are not deemed necessary.
