Shark. I fully agree with your above points, and actually nearly always drive with headlights on already. I'm just not a fan of them being down there in the fog light location.

I prefer the 'understated' look and part of that is to blend in with others as opposed to standing out. It's a bit harsh to call people flashing you idiots, it's skoda departing from the norm by putting the side lights down there. There are enough of the other idiots on the road to vent my spleen on ;)

Safety first, always.

I diagree, both hyundia and volvo put their DRLs in the fog light position, exactly as the vRS does

mini and fiat (with the 500) also put their sidelights/drls down there...

all good stuff! the people who flash you are idiots... ignorance is no excuse ;) those people will probably be signaling right when going straight ahead at a roundabout! :dull:

enjoy your new car

I agree 101%. They are called DRLs and are meant exactly for this purpose. To be always on during the day and make you easily noticed without blinding or annoying anybody. Apart from the complete ignorants out there who think they know everything, the rest of them who flash you are only doing it cos their car doesn't have any, it's a typical reaction.

Yes they are in a different position than people have got used to from Audis, but damn, it's a totally different, distinguishable light that is no fog/headlight whatsoever and it certainly does not blind or annoy people at all (except from the fact they make some of them jealous). I really think you shouldn't worry about this unless you don't like them aesthetically (which I find hard to believe, however taste is subjective...)

Agree Much better having them on regardless where they are on the car, the idiots driving around with the fogs on because they haven't got drls are the issue, mine are now in the headlight (golf) but eventually all cars on the roads will have em
