Im stuck now anyways mate lol got to wait for next lot in the post :(

Its says some bubbles settle after a week or so as it is breathable.... Aslong as i can get a nice finish on the main lights i could redo indicators later down the line :(

  • Take a deep breath. Go and have a cup of tea and go back to a bit later mate. Don't let the OCD get the better of you lol.

  • Thats the one lol Aaah a tinter mate, thats what i needed I hope they are ok

  • Ok they are in :( marks do show when close, but i cant aford another try, i think it may be chips. I defo cant do new lights. So for now this is the result :S

Taking the bumper off would make it easier to get the light out, but it's not necessary :)

You say that.....

But because the light is held up by the reinforcing bar, having the bumper off doesn't really help much at all. I know this from personal experience haha

They are there bud, when u got them infront of you theres some hard bubble bits... Hard to get by iphone cam

I got the headlight marks tho

I'll see if can get indicator marks , hoping they will dry and set neater

Is that not the leftover adhesive from the tint you removed??

tip is to soak the light on water with a little soap and apply tint then squeegee out

air bubbles do go away when dryed out or heated up most of the time

The mark is actually a indent, like if a layer was missing lol

I think the other bit are chips :(

Ive had a second atempt and even tho there are some marks i think i'll be ok ??????

I cant aford to tey again :(

They seem ok, i think im happy

The best would be 2 new smooth lights i think but um......... No

Please dont be too mean with hole picking lol

Its the 1st thing on car im not 100% pleased with , ive over spent really, its also made me doubt trying more stuff myself

Im telling myself they will be ok once dried out and on

You could try cutting them back with sand paper then polishing them back up. Might get rid of the chips

Where did you get the film for doing this?

  • Author

Maybe in a year or so :( i cant afford another lot of film, im just lucky i have a great mrs that ordered me some more bits after i was gutted with the 1st fook up

Maybe if i didnt drive like a dickweed at times id have less marks on them

If i had xenons arnt they glass units ? Might have been better and easier, would they be more robust too??

I know how you feel mate. But I think they look good. Now get them back on the car and take some pics lol.

No only the pre facelift mk1s had a glass lens

Ok so how much do I need to do both lights and indicators ? And I take it the tint is subtle tint and not gunsmoke?

  • Author

Yeah it subtle tint...... Well rob did it all out of a 12x28

Which was what i um...... :( ended up with just 2 indicators with but we wont go into that

My awesome mrs bought me 2x 8x18 which made it alot easier to manage, i didnt have much left from each tho so i dunno if u could get indicators out of spare

If i had it over again id get a 8x18 and a 12x28 lol

Id have easier bits to work with

But it starts adding up :(

I will check but i think thats the sizes i had and um ..... Yes wasted :(

Right so let's get this Right! Lol I will need 2x 8x18 then or 2x 12x28

  • Author

If you want easy to handle bits mate

1 piece at 8"x18"

And

1 piece at 18"x28"

Rob did get it all out of 1 piece of 18"x28" tho

Hats off to that dude :) ( legend )

Mate.... I really wish you luck and hope you get on better than me

Oooh and if you dont cut or use the 2nd piece they do take stuff back, so if you do get on with the big one you could send the other back

I'm sure my mate that tints windows will have a good go at it ;-). Must be 12x28 as there is no 18x28 listed

Looking stunning, IMO a black grill is needed for this.

A black grille is going on mate :) i have a fellow briskie doing a matt black one for me, will go carbon wrap 1day when i do other bits

Looks good and to be honest I don't think anyone else would pick up on it,people would just look and see tinted lights, doubt anyone would come up close and pick fault with imperfections in it and if they did they would clearly need to get out more lol

Ooops I've just made a mess in my trousers! That looks cracking mate. Defo got to get some for mine now. Well done buddy.

Cheers guys :)

Its just me, im a nightmare .... If i know sonethings not 100% lol

I have serious ocd's :(

From abit back i love it

But i know lol

Waiting for my matt grille now, as cant afford my carbon yet

they look ******* awesome mate! I would be well chuffed if my car looked like that. Red with black splitter and that lamin-x WOW!

My car has outlines from where i removed octavia and elegance...it ****es me off so much every time i see it so i know how you feel. From more than 3 feet away they dissapear though. Must get a good machine polisher on it sometime :) Or just spray over the top lol!
