MDI questions

Featured Replies

Hi folks

I just picked up a MkII VRS last week & have just ordered a seagate go flex drive for the mdi port, but had a few questions I was hoping some of you that are using usb drives already, might be able to help with:

1) do you leave your usb drives in the car all the time, or remove them/hide them when you park & leave the car?

2) Perhaps I'm being a little too paranoid about thieves, but I was thinking of looking for some sort of plastic cover or something to cover the MDI hole in the dash, to make it less of a target for someone to smash & grab the usb drive. Has anyone found anything that would fit the bill?

cheers

S.

well i dont have hard drive but got ipod classic and its plugged in all the time, well i doubt it could be seen in the hole because it a pretty big gap so you shouldnt have any worries

The goflex fits the mdi slot nicely, wedges in and blends in.

Very few passengers on the inside ever realised there was anything in there in my VRS2, the folk on the outside would be very hard pressed to see it.

this exactly..... no one will notice, thats why the goflex is so good :)

oh, and you will need to format it to FAT32 ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I hadn't realised just how deep the cubby hole was until I had a closer look this morning, so I'm sure it'll be fine

I got the mdi cable today, & the drive should arrive later in the week :-)
