MDI MK III

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, just got a Skoda Octavia about 2 months ago 2013 2.0 TDI, absolutely loving it!

I've seen few people talk about the MDI port in the Octavia on the forum but I've been unable to find the port on my model. I've got an iPod Classic 120GB with 3K+ tracks I want to be able to use through the car's onboard media system as I'm currently just playing the tracks through audio jack and it's a nightmare to try skip tracks while driving. I've tried to plugin the iPod into the USB port I have in the car but as folk have already highlighted on the forum, the onboard system won't be able to control the iPod from this. Does any have any idea where the MDI port would be in my car model? Is there I can easily plugin to get the functionality of the iPod through the car's system? I've taken some pics of my car's glovebox and the usb & audio jack area: https://cloudup.com/cA65qOosjth

Any help appreciated! Thanks

Bite the bullet and just use a 128gb SD card as it will be so much easier.

MDI interface is an optional extra.

You could always go for an aftermarket connection?

is there anyway to retro fit the MDI interface connector so the iPod can display track lists and control on the head unit?
