I have joined Briskoda as I have just ordered my first Skoda ever. It is an Octavia 2.0 TFSI 200PS DSG in Race Blue. Delivery is expected in June.

Currently my wife and I have a 1995 Vauxhall Omega Elite saloon (3 litre with 4 sp auto box) and a 1999 5-door Golf 1.6 SE manual, both of which we have had from new. The Omega is a greatly underated car, fast, comfortable and reasonable economical (30+ mpg on long journeys staying within speed limits and the overall from new is about 25). Recently we have had an experience of a spares availability problem and it is about time for a change anyway. We like the quality of the Golf and the Octavia fits the bill as our larger car with quality similar to the Golf.

I am fully retired. I originally was in the aircraft industry (B.Sc. in aero engineering) and latterly in the computer industry. I have always been a bit of a petrol head.

I hope to be able to learn from the forums here and, perhaps when I've become acquainted with my Skoda, make an occasional contribution.
