First mod?

Featured Replies

So, other than a trip to Jabba, what should my first mod be to my new Furby vRS?

My gut feeling is the brakes, as they seem to be the weak link at the moment... Any suggestions?

Sources and prices for any suggestions would be appreciated. I have

before going to jabba i'd do any other things to the engine that you want to do so they can adjust for them i.e. intake, exhaust, pipework etc

Well, my first ever mod was a set of 17" wheels - It was for this reason I found Briskoda in the first place way back in March 03. :D

I could live happily with the standard car.

I bet most people who buy these cars dont even know about this forum. And I bet they are much happier than people who know about this forum.

Face it, the Fabia vRS is a bloody good car for

I can't see me modifying the car - not after the lecture I got from Direct Line as I paid for my insurance renewal. While it seems tamer than when I got it I don't need the extra go (extra stop maybe, but I've just seen Paul's thread on the brakes which makes sense).

I also can't see my dad modifying his in any way. To him the car is just a tool, but an enjoyable one - he boasted about blowing away a vectra that was sitting on his bumper on a roundabout last night.

Mine might see a tuning box, but that'll be it.

And perhaps a strut brace.

I've also considered stiffening up the suspension too.

Depends what you want to do, how much you value your warranty and how much the insurance company will sting you for doing it. I suspect the brakes won't affect your premium as they are classed as "consumables", even if you replace the calipers!

Personally, I'd go for sorting the suspension as the car has too much body roll and diving/lifting under braking/acceleration. This will transform the car and make it much faster through corners :D Tuning box is a good cheap mod too

For

There's a set of 312's from an Anniversary Golf for

Strut brace Front and Rear. Set of lowering springs and better brake pads,or 312mm conversion

Over the next 12months you will get an extra 15bhp just as the engine loosens up anyway :)

Have we got any proof of this yet?

hehe

The dyno in my ass :) and .5 seconds quicker to 60 than when new.

There is nothing official there i know, but its my experience as an honest owner. The engines are very tight when new.

I've never seen any proof to confirm this either, but I have to say my car does seem to feel quicker than when I got it... however, this could simply be that I have learned how to drive it properly ;)

The engine will certainly loosen up and the car will rev more freely, but I doubt it will get any more powerful ;) Agree about the driving comment though
